Yes I was going to say it looks redish.. Which is nice.. Oak is a lovely wood..  Probably a bit heavy for a guitar but could be used for many other things.. Wood turners would love it.

This branch came down in my sister's back yard a couple years ago in a strong storm.  The entire tree had to go, the base of which looks to be about twice the circumference of the one Steve took down.  Maple - but no takers, it would have had about two years to dry out by now.
