2023 Les Paul Standard Pick Guard

I think the un-bevelled edge is how the Custom shop reissues are, at least that's the case on my R8, so I'm guessing it's "period correct".  I know what you mean, it feels a little unfinished to me but I guess it is what it is.

It does seem curious. Its not much of a cost cut.

Curious. At least that would explain it.

  • Wiring is "modern", not 50s style,

That's weird. Oh well, probably sounds great anyway.

My 60s Standard doesn't have a bevelled pickguard. No idea if that's era correct. I'd never thought of it before I read this.

I think both of my les paul PGs are beveled,  not sure as I don't have pickguards attached

In my flea bitten opinion, they sound 10 times better without them!!

\:D/

My last LP wasn't even supplied with one. Of course that cost extra.

Hi All,

I've just taken delivery of a 2023 LP Standard 50's Heritage Cherry and the pick guard has a square, not bevelled, edge. Is this correct?

My 2019 50's Standard came with a beveled pickguard.

First I heard a this, but I'm not really up on all the differences in models. My 2021 Gibson LP Standard '50s that I got new gots a beveled pickguard.
