Where do you live? A war zone located in a liquor store?

Ha! No, my daughter sent me a text @ 8am the first day of "remote learning", from her bedroom to me as I was downstairs doing laundry, saying an explosive device had been planted in "the school", (my house). She has a great sense of humor. As for the drinking teacher issue, my attorney recommends I plead the 5th.

Weed is better for you and legal in many states. My kids are drinking age.

Best thread I've read all year by a long way.

Must seriously inform you that European 'socialism' is in reality very very different and completely unlike what is described as such in the USA.   It is not communist or random autocratic decision-making by corrupt b*****ds, despite what you may have read about the EU and such.

I do not ever wish to start an argument/spat or anything of the sort over this single definition, and apologise to mods and contributors for any perceived offence.  This is one of the most informative and important exchanges of opinions I have read in the over 12 years it has been my privilege to remain a member of this forum.

America is very different indeed from England and one of the astonishing things about what I am reading in these pages is how much you All know about your laws, rights, etc.

I remember this like it was yesterday. My 11th grade teacher’s name was Mrs. Stacy, and it was third period US history. She said to the entire class, everything in the Bible happened and was real. I thought to myself wow you’re making this statement in public school. Does the Principal know you have gone rogue?

And she was totally wrong  too

I hope I get to that situation some day. Congratz on good choices. [thumbup]

Sadly the only reason I have house with no payments in SC is my father in law paid it off before he passed away 6 years ago, and my wife inherited it and got some money from life insurance and such. I's sure my wife would rather have her father alive than a house. Then a year later my mom passed and I got some money from the same situation. My wife and I could no way afford to buy a house here if we wanted to.  As I drive around here now new homes are going for 500 -800k. And its a tourist town, so there is that to deal with. The fun is just beginning. Since I am retired I totally for got its Memorial Day weekend and when I went out this weekend to go to the store I was reminded why I really don't like it here. I grew up on the West Coast, and I hate humidity and its gone be 1000% humidity, and in the 80's and 90's for the next 6 months with idiots from all over clogging up the stores and restaurants.

Well yeah. I took biology in school, and I don't remember taking a rib out of a mans body is the way women came to be. Its just luck of the draw when the sperm and egg meet.

As you know, since you're from the West Coast.... $500-$800K in the SF Bay Area won't get you flat-top 1200 sq/ft, slab floor, post war tract home.   (My mother's house is one of those.   My sisters live in it, and it will sell for well over $1M.....and whoever buys it will tear it down and build a "McMansion" on the property.

Adam was walking around the Garden of Eden feeling very lonely, so God asked Adam, "What is wrong with you?"

Adam said, "Lord, I don't have anyone to talk to."

God said, "Then I will give you a companion, and she will be called a 'woman'. This person will cook for you and wash your clothes, she will always agree with every decision you make. She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. She will not nag you, and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will never have a headache, and will freely give 'love' and compassion whenever needed. She will never question your behaviour or the company you keep. She will support you and understand that you have important decisions to make throughout your life and don't have time for nonsense..."

Adam asked God, "What will this woman cost?"

God said, "An arm and a leg..."

Adam said, "What can I get for just a rib?"

Yes I grew up there, and it makes me sick what happened to the state I grew up in, and used to really love. Every time I go back I get more and more sick to see Cali turned into nothing but Ebay, Oracle, Google and ever other tech giant. You gotta pay your sunshine tax in Cali cause Nancy demands it.

In the mid 90's my mother sold her house in SJ which was bought for 65k for 3/4 of a million. If she would have waited a year of so, she probably would have gotten way over a million. She then moved to Pismo Beach and lived off that in an apartment till she passed away. But hey that's life.

For a rib you get an unstable person who changes their mind every 20 minutes and constantly complains everything you do is wrong. I would have went with the arm and leg.

I still live in Southern California… There’s nowhere on Earth I’d rather live.. The Weather is almost always perfect.. The Beaches, the Mountains, the Desert.. Cities if you’re crazy enough to go there.. There’s so much always going on.. Everyday I get up & look outside & say “Another day in Paradise”…… For me it’s true…

There is a lot to say about living here.....  my little slice of earth is beyond anything I ever imagined.

My little town o Danville is like 40K people....great restaurants, beautiful hills....only 55 minutes from my grandkids....minimum lot size in my neighborhood is 1 acre, so I almost never see my neighbors....as I've said, I want to leave my house feet first with a toe-tag on!

Lars, Palm Desert is the playground fore the rich!

I wish I could, but I could no way, even if I sold off my vital organs, could I afford to go back, and even afford any size house.

Wonder what we could get for a pair of testicles  ?

Ask many men who are in a relationship, and they will tell you it only got worse after she took their pair.  🙃

A higher vocal range.

It’s how you get to sing in the Vienna Boys Choir. A snip here a few stitches there. Instant Soprano.
