I live in Fort Pierce.

There is a big discount music store in Orlando. Never been inside but passed it on the Interstate (I-4). http://www.discountmusic.com - if you check it out, let me know if it is worth stopping in.

There is a pretty good, guitar intensive Sam Ash near Fort Lauderdale. Leilani got her Parker there for a very good deal. Couldn't find the web site very easily, but here is the info from my address book.

5460 W Sample Rd

Pompano Beach, FL 33073

(954) 975-3390

There used to be a Modern Music on Oakland Park Blvd that had a good selection when I lived in Ft.L in the 1970s. I don't know if it is still there or not.

There used to be a Musician's Exchange (music store and co-op) on Broward Blvd. in Ft.L but I heard they aren't there anymore. You might check it out if you have the time.

About 30 miles N of Ft.L in West Palm Beach is a George's Music in the Palm Beach Mall http://www.georgesmusic.com/ on I-95 and Okeechobee Blvd. and a few miles west on Okeechobee is a pretty big Guitar Center, but I don't think it is very different from any other GC store.

There used to be a few bigger Mom and Pop stores there, but the big guys ran them out of business. They had a Mars but they are all gone, and they took Ace Music in Miami with them :-( that's a shame because it was worth the drive..

I haven't lived in Ft.L since the late 1970s so I don't know what else is happening. Since I moved to Ft. Pierce I try to buy at the two mom & pop stores in my area, and if I can't find it there I'll drive an hour south to Georges and GC in West Palm Beach or an hour's north to Florida Discount Music in Melbourne http://www.floridadiscountmusic.com/

I hope we have some great weather for you.

This place has a great selection of new and used stuff - more vintage gear than most shops in that area as far as I know.

The owner is a giant tool though. It's the only store I've ever been thrown out of! (And you know what a nice person I am, Thunder). Still, in spite of disliking the turd, I felt you deserved to know about his shop. They really do have a nice inventory.
