Multiples of the same guitar

For me I have the ES-330 and the Casino which for all practical purposes are the same guitar. The ES has become a collectors item, and therefore gets played at home where I can control any possible damage, and the Casino goes on stage to get the nicks, dings, and scuffs that a working instrument eventually will accumulate.

But I wouldn't buy another one unless I spotted a real deal on another 330.

My GAS is for different looking, different playing, and different sounding guitars. Unfortunately, I have more GAS than CASH so I'm happy with what I have (repeat: "I'm happy with what I have", I'm happy with what I have", I'm happy with what I have", I'm happy with what I have", I'm happy with what I have", .... ooooooooh it's useless to resist.

Besides for that, my partner/wife and I have a Parker PM10, ESP/LTD Les Paul Clone, Ovation/Applause, Alvarez (classical) and a Japanese Epi Flat-top.

I have one main guitar ( LP Ultra ) and a back up ( Fender Telecaster ). I never kept two of the same. The only reason I'm keeping guitars for' date=' is to play them. I used to have more, hanging on the wall and never played them...I got rid of the ones I was'nt playing. I'm really not a collectionner. I will probably buy a Gibson LP Standard pretty soon, and I will then keep the Tele as a back up and get rid of the Ultra. I don't give them names, just in case...lolll... They are my tools for gigging, that's all.[/quote']

Don't get rid of your epi, you'll want that weight relief you can't get in a gibson under 3000 bucks pretty often, I tell ya.

Though, you may wanna trade up to an ultra II, that acoustic/hybrid tone could be VERY addictive.

I might be guilty, not so much as having a lot of the same guitar.

But in having two of said same ones yes ,

Dot,Dot studio,AN a ES335from 67 that doesn`t hit the stage anymore.

two fenders strat`s both different models but yes both are starts.

So yes i guess i do have the same style ,but all are so different in sound.

I will certainly try the Gibson first before buying it...Playing the Ultra is a real pleasure considering is weight and sound. I might keep it instead spending $3000... or as you say, might buy the Ultra II. I'll see that in fall.

Thanks for the advice ;-)

No prob, I've actually been lusting over the les paul ultra II for a while now, because i played an epi custom, loved the feel, but not the weight, played an acoustic, didn't liek the feel or the depth, played a custom shop gibson, felt like heaven, but the 3 biggest differences from the epi custom were A. the weight, it was like, maybe a pound and a half, two pounds tops and as big as any other les paul, sustain liek you can't believe. B. The fretboard was ebony. I could play, bend, slide up and down or shred leads for days. C. The pickups, the 500T in the bridge and a '57 in the neck, amazing.

That was a $3000 guitar, add any acoustic with the same quality sound of the ultra II, it's another 600.

Or get the les paul ultra II, no ebony fretboard, but you can put some more money into it for the pickups if you like, and you've got the same quality guitar for about 2800 dollars less.

Man, I gotta buy that now...

I have three Dillion DR-500's, but didn't intend to, exactly. I really wanted a green one wih a vibrato bar, but at the time I was looking, they weren't available, so I got a purple one. Later I got a really good deal on a green one with a stoptail, and the two guitars sound subtly different, so I could justify both. About a year after that a blue one showed up on eBay that had been modded with a toggle switch instead of a rotary. I put a low bid in, telling myself that if I won it I could use it as a "loaner" to let friends play at jams without worrying what might happen to it --- and my low bid actually won, so now I have three. But they're not really the same, honest!

"I don't have a drug problem"

"I'm not an alcoholic....just drink on weekends"

"I only have a gambling problem when I lose"

It's an addiction...c'mon say it out loud......my name is ____CB_________ and I'm a guitaroholic......it started with strings, picks accessories.....maybe a slide and few effects pedals. Before I knew it I was into the Real heavy stuff...... Les Pauls and Marshalls.
