Is this a bit much?

That thing looks brand spankin' new.

It's funny, we all say Les Pauls might be some decent money in the future...but when a sweet looking 40 year old gold top lists for $19,000, it seems over priced...go figure.

Junkie, you're going to buy it, aren't you?

Do it...do it....[-(

A bit rich for me. I'd rather own a dozen (or more) $800 to $1800 guitars than one $19,000 guitar.

Saaayyy... wait a minute!!! Isn't that right in your neck of the woods Tim???

That things in pretty good shape for a 39 year old guitar, I dunno, I smell a rat...if you look where the peghead joins the neck, it doesn't have that bump they had well into the '70's, unless I just can't see it with my machine...it's a scam...offer him 1500.00 for it.

Another thing I noticed through the blur is the fret ends aren't covered by the binding...of course if the guitar is indeed a '69 (I don't think it is), it COULD have been re-fretted. But again, it's in really, really, REALLY nice shape for a guitar that old, I mean, there aint even sweat stains where your arm rests on the body. My Goldtop got that 2 months after I bought it.
