GuitarJunkie
I'm not too up on my late '60s gibson prices, but this seems a bit high to me... http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-musical-instruments-1969-Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-GOLDTOP-P90s-W0QQAdIdZ56458806
saturn
It looks like it's in great shape, but still seems kinda high. But what do I know?
Silverbursted
Yikes. They are real proud of that one. Was there anything special about the 69 GT with P90's that I am missing?
Tim Plains
That thing looks brand spankin' new. It's funny, we all say Les Pauls might be some decent money in the future...but when a sweet looking 40 year old gold top lists for $19,000, it seems over priced...go figure. Â Junkie, you're going to buy it, aren't you? Do it...do it....
GuitarJunkie
Junkie' date=' you're going to buy it, aren't you? Do it...do it....[/quote'] Tim ---><--- Me  A bit rich for me. I'd rather own a dozen (or more) $800 to $1800 guitars than one $19,000 guitar.   Saaayyy... wait a minute!!! Isn't that right in your neck of the woods Tim??? MikeRom
Maybe the lister will use the money he makes from the sale of that guitar to learn how to take decent pictures.  Yeah, I think i'll drop 19 grand based on some blurry pix   not
matiac
That things in pretty good shape for a 39 year old guitar, I dunno, I smell a rat...if you look where the peghead joins the neck, it doesn't have that bump they had well into the '70's, unless I just can't see it with my machine...it's a scam...offer him 1500.00 for it. ChanMan
Dunno man... I saw a nice black-backed gold top when I bought my DB... I just can't think about another gold top since I saw her... (and I bet I can find one for less than 19 grand)
daveinspain
You can ask what ever you want for a guitar... What it will sell for is another thing.
jnstrom
Must have been in the attic or in the back of a church some where. Only the serials would tell. If it is real and untouched it would bring this price maybe. Out of my reach.
matiac
Another thing I noticed through the blur is the fret ends aren't covered by the binding...of course if the guitar is indeed a '69 (I don't think it is), it COULD have been re-fretted. But again, it's in really, really, REALLY nice shape for a guitar that old, I mean, there aint even sweat stains where your arm rests on the body. My Goldtop got that 2 months after I bought it.
