pohatu771
I use a variety of strings. My acoustic has Martins on it. My Casino has either Slinkies or Boomers. Whichever one isn't on the Casino, is on the Strat. Normally I play D'Addario strings on the Casino. The kind with a yellow ring on the package. I have all of the "techincal" names written down somewhere, but that's what sticks out in my mind. The Ernie Balls are lime green, the Martins are just normal green, and the Boomers are blue. RMC1
I`ve always used 9`s and my fingers, but i`ve re-strung both my Epi`s with 10`s today.I have to admit,as many people have said on here,10`s are the way to go on a Les Paul.Ernie Ball Regular Slinky. layboomo
I don't find a whole helluva lot of difference between slinky's,boomers or d'addario's quality wise....and I use mostly 10-46 sets. I will say that the d'addarios seem to settle in when new faster/better than the others for some reason and that's a good thing. I've been using them more than the others lately and they are consistantly good FWIW.
dbirchett
Acoustics I use Dean Markley Alchemy. I have several sets of Gold Phos. now so that's what I will be using for awhile. For the 12 string I use Elixers because I hate to change all those strings at once. On my Guild X-170T I use D'Addario half rounds 10-46. On the other Electics I am using SOB (Snake Oil Brand) Pure Nickel strings, 10-46.
Just Strum
I use 10's and 11's and the best are the ones that are played.
wiggy
I play mainly blues. I use Power Slinkys with a 44 and a 56 for the E & A. All top strung. Suits me - you may hate it.

TWANG
I've used Everlys for a long time.. I switched to ernie balls.. because I was in GC and thought I'd try some custom guages, etc. and I found them less consistent, and I broke two. The Everlys are it for me. I just love the way they sound.. even over time, and I've never broken one that I can recall. I use them on the sheraton, the lp, and my taylor and my tele. I used each different model, but the Rockers do a great job and cost a bit less so I stick with them. I used different guages and found them consistent in quality and tone all the time. The fact that I'm helping keep the name Everly in music also makes me feel good. But I wouldn't compromise for that reason.
copper1281734000
My favorites are the ernie ball 10's. They're always very consistent and they sound better for a longer time that other brands I've tried. And of all brands I've tried, they were also the cheapest :-) !! Dave
Generally I use D'addario XL10's in nickel wound. Ocassionally, I'll buy a couple of sets of EB Slinkies in 10, but they do require a lot of strtching to maintain tune at first. The D'addarios stretch in very quickly.
