pohatu771
There aren't any models currently being made, but they have made them before. The only one I'm aware of is a Les Paul Special, the flat-top with P-90s. They may have produced a carved top Les Paul Standard, though.
jcwillow777
I sure wish they would put one in production!!!!! Are you listening Epiphone?

leicester35
They definitely made them in the mid '90s...because I remember playing a (new) Epiphone Les Paul Special DC in a guitar shop not long after I started college (this makes me feel very old...) Here is a photo I just found of one that sold recently, which was listed as a 1995 model (which seems about right). Looks like it has been extensively tinkered with though.  http://www.blackcreekguitars.com/100_5026.jpg  The new Gibson faded Les Paul DCs do look pretty nice though, and look like quite good value for money (I have never played one, but have heard good things.) http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Les-Paul-Faded-Double-Cutaway-Electric-Guitar-102112661-i1149450.gc  I was hankering after a DC Pro myself at one time...could never quite justify the expense, and now Gibson seem to have discontinued them, sadly. Ricochet
I'd buy the Del Rey today if I could find one. Â I saw 2 up for sale a couple of months ago, but I was getting outbid by these morons with their starting bid! Just Strum
If you are lucky (and most likely rich), try to find a 61 thru 63 Les Paul. Or save your money and buy an SG
Stevie Nazarenie
i,ve come away from the sg and am going back to les paul for a bit more wood. but i like to play right up the top. if my "vintage" lp copy if anything to go by a real lp is a bit hampering on the left hand with the neck joint. hence the need for a dc. Â It was early when I posted it, so I wasn't being clear (not that time matters when it comes to me being clear).
JefferySmith
The closest thing I have found is a doublecut Agile (MIK I think) for $250. Â

antwhi2001
This is the one to go for :  http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j24/antwhi2001/guitars%20over%20the%20years/?action=view¤t=100_0517.jpg  Gibson doublecut LP faded. Great value. Having said that, if there had been a set-neck Epi version available I'd have happily bought the Epi.  Someone tell me how to post pics properly! antwhi2001
It's a badly-positioned overlay......my fault. Luckily, I'm not a perfectionist.  http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j24/antwhi2001/guitars%20over%20the%20years/?action=view¤t=100_0519.jpg  It's a 2004 faded DC which I re-finished in TV yellow, put a TV Model logo on, and swapped the white plastic key tuners for Klusons. The original faded yellow finish was awful.
Stevie Nazarenie
they do have their appeal. simplistic as they are compared to the copies i've seen. so what is it an eastwood?
antwhi2001
If you're asking about mine, it's a 2004 USA Gibson (ex) faded. Â They are light like an SG, but perfectly balanced - no neck dive.
Stevie Nazarenie
ahh. i thought you meant you'd put a gibson decal on it. do you have an exact weight for it. is it as thick as a les paul? i wondering just how much of a les paul tone you get. more than an sg though?
antwhi2001
It's about half the thickness of a standard les paul and around 7lbs. It's all mahogany and set-neck, but physically it's nothing like a "standard" LP. It's basically a Junior with an extra cutaway, with P90s. As used by Santana on his early stuff, Martin Barre of Jethro Tull used one on the Aqualung album....Leslie West......a great rock guitar but not so good for totally clean tones. Stevie Nazarenie
would the tone of an sg with p90's match the dc?
