gearbasher
Need to adjust the zimmer now! OK. I guess there are no stupid questions. So, I'll ask. Is "zimmer" a typo? A British term? A computer term? OR, some sort of guitar slang I never heard?

OR, some sort of guitar slang I never heard? [/quote'] Mea culpa GB On this day of benevolence to all things (and people American) I have to admit that was obtuse even for me! Sorry, I was kinda meaning that I was so taken by the L4 that my Zimmer frame was struggling to support me as I'd gone weak at the knees. Ever which you'd never strarted something! Johnt>>>>>>>>>>>>>exit stage right!

Johnt>>>>>>>>>>>>>exit stage right! OK. I actually had to google Zimmer frame. British term for a "walker". So, I don't feel that dumb. You learn something new every day here. Even if it isn't guitar related.
onewilyfool
You know, I had a Heritage (or is that AN Heritage???) 575, which I sold, that was a beautiful guitar, all solid maple, and it sounded amazing loud in acoustic mode, and sounded good in amped mode, but this L-4 is something special. It is not as loud as the Heritage as I remember (which suprises me cause the L-4 is deeper body wise), but the acoustic tone is just fantastic. Very woody, jazzy, feels better to play, neck wise, and the sound of the amped is MUCH better than the Heritage. Those '57 Humbuckers sound fantastic.....This is not a flat-top acoustic guitar, but it seems well suited to be in this forum, because of it's superb acoustic quality.....hope you don't mind..... onewilyfool
Guys.....I know, I know...the L-4 is not an "official" acoustic, but I have been playing this thing daily only acoustically, and i'm telling you it has an unbelievable sweet sound. Again, from the player's side, not as much volume as a flattop, but when you are on the listening side it is quite loud, but the real thing is the sweet woody sound.....I'm just amazed.....I suggest at least you try on in a store if you see one....you'll be surprised...... Gibson CS
man thats a great looking shot can you tell me some more about that little acoustic in the middle either PM or just reply thanks
Thermionik
Am I right in thinking, onewilyfool, that L-4 is late forties or ealy fifties, and am I right in thinking, even if I begged on bended knee, that you wouldn't give it to me, even if I promised riches beyond your wildest dreams (which I can't, sob, sob, sigh.....) Stunning guitar, and I would just love to plug that in to my Blond Bassman and let rip. Utterly beautiful - transcends guitar pornography - she is art. onewilyfool
Jesse.....That middle guitar is a L-20 kind of rare.....but a great little guitar.....my blues baby. It has an 1 13/16" neck and has very low action and is a breeze to play. Only 30-40 made Therm....I WISH it was from the forties or fifties.....made in 2002, solid spruce top, like a 175 but with the solid top. Just fun to play.... onewilyfool
I'm by no means an expert on these things.....but I believe the L-4 is a solid top version of the ES 175???? Correct me if I'm wrong????
