I like the smell of new cd's and video games, that's toxic too. I also like the smell of my Gibson Hardshell case but Neo told me that I was smelling glue, also can't be good.

The stuff coming of that new vinyl/plastic is pretty nasty stuff if you get enough of it. How much is too much? dunno.

70s and 80s, those fumes quickly built up a layer of smoke like glaze on the inside of your windows. At least they've reduced it enough in recent years that it's not building up so quickly. Air the damn thing out once in while.

The first thing I thought of was the smell of the new guitar case too. My cars are way past the new car smell.

I don't know if the smell is bad for your health, but the payments are sure hard on your checkbook.

I knew a guy/customer in the past couple of years who used to get a kind of annaphalaphtic/ toxic shock reaction from his new Ford after he bought it everytime he sat into it. We had to take it back and kind of wear the new car smell out of it before he could take it back.

 

He had got bitten by something a few years earlier which caused a reaction, so I guess was a bit more sensitive to stuff. Something in the new car used to trigger a reaction.

Same, I give it about 3 months before new car smell shows up on Dateline as another cause for ADHD in children.
