craigh
I just had open heart surgery & can't lift more than 5 lbs so my Les Pauls are out of the picture for now. I have a Revolution Casino & can't find any info on the weight. Being hollow bodied it's light, but is it under 5 lbs? Thanks. Craig
Andre S
Is sitting down to play out of the question as well?
craigh
I'll be sitting down to play, but to lift an LP off the stand is too heavy at least for a few more weeks. I don't want to strain my ribcage. Craig
Dennis G
Okay, me on my bathroom scale with and without my Elitist shows a 7 lb difference. Includes a Levy's strap, but I'm guessing that's a half pound or less, so I'd say it's over 5 lbs. YMMV
craigh
Hmmmmm my SG will be too heavy. My ES-150 being an archtop hopefully should be light enough. Craig

Craig Hopefully, no acoustics?.....here's to a speedy recovery! I know how annoying it can be to be in recovery and not allowed to play guitar....especially when the day of the surgery, your new Jet City tube amp reaches and your not supposed to even lift it out of the box to admire it... I did anyway though...
craigh
I have a Breedlove acoustic, but I love my Gibsons. Craig

Bowdiddley
Brother I hope all is going well with your recovery. I didn't listen to my doc's about the weight limit thing after my surgery, and I now sport a hernia because of it, now anything over 30 lbs causes pain. My advice is to do exactly what the doctor's say.
Sollophonic
Ive got a groin hernia, which has got worse recently and am having it repaired in just under two weeks. Still got gigs and rehearsals to do before then, so I have narrowed down my useable guitars both for now and the 6 weeks or so post op. For now I am using a little Vox DA5 run into the PA, and the guitars I still have as being "on - limits" are my little Melody Maker ReIssue, my little Dano U2, and one of my Squier 51s. The others are just too heavy, not just for now, but definately post-op. I still want to have something to noodle on during my recovery, as I have a good 4 weeks off work! Follow your doctors orders I'd say. Its what I plan to do.
craigh
I'm going to the Cardiologist Tuesday. Hopefully he'll say I can lift up to 10 lbs & drive my car. Right now I'm playing my Breedlove acoustic & Hofner bass. Craig
bonzoboy
I wish you a speedy recovery.Would it be possible to have someone to pass it to you while sitting or just to leave it lying on the chesterfield so that all you have to do was slide it over to you?I always have one of my Casinos at the ready as my John Lennon 1965 is my favourite guitar of all 28,so I know the anxiety you must feel for not being able to play it. A few months of being idle is something you can make up for.... Your full recovery should be the priority
sparky scott 29
I went thru the same problem in 2008.. Kinda a pain, in more than one way.. Hope it all works out well for ya, It did seem like a long time before playing any of my heavy guitars...
