BigKahune
. MM are one of the best deals out there. Relatively inexpensive and great for modding. I've had a couple of over the years. I bought one in 72 and still have it. I've played JJ Blackheart and the white sig. Both are very nice. BTW Duane - I love your mod. B)

charlie brown
Actually, I like double cut Melody Makers, in general. I wish Gibson would re-introduce that option, at the same (decent) price point, as the single cutaway. The JJ Melody makers, are great, but...overpriced, IMHO...especially, the white ones, on E-bay! I'd much rather make my own "version," than be limited to someone else's. But, that's just me. ;>) CB
G McBride
CB, Are you still upset that I outbid you on that White autographed MM?

charlie brown
CB, Are you still upset that I outbid you on that White autographed MM? Nah, I'm glad you got one. But, the several that I've seen recently, have been way too expensive...IMHO. Some of which have gone for what one could get a vintage version for. But, you can't blame the sellers, if folks are willing to pay that. CB
Searcy
My red one there with the original case appraised for $800 to $900. Just so you know the deal.
charlie brown
My red one there with the original case appraised for $800 to $900. Just so you know the deal. A white JJ Melody Maker just sold (today) on E-bay, for $1,099.00. There have been some, that went for 12-14 hundred. ??? Discontinued, or not... ;>b CB

Discontinued, or not... Whoa! . That's too much for a JJ/MM. But a few years ago when the market was high, a 60s MM like Searcy's (in good condition/original) would've been going around $1000+; the double cut, double pups were $1200-$1400. BTW Searcy - cool pic of a really nice lookin' MM.

G McBride
Maybe I should consider mine an investment. If they keep going up I will be tempted to sell mine.
