  1. Yes they do. There in lies the rub. Mark my words you will curse Gibson's name many times until its sorted. It aint gonna happen overnight.
  2. Yeah but there are so many variations out there. Write down on a piece of paper what you want then search Reverb or ebay or pawn shop, guitar stores, ect. There is only so much that can be done. I liked the fact that it had a 60's neck, maple cap, it had binding and was a upper end. If I found the exact same thing in a burst or ebony or white or some other color I would have gotten that. My only thing is I hate blue guitars. I put the pups in I wanted (Lindy Fralins, they kill), and locking tuners. Bought the pots I wanted, got a tail piece, switch and bridge, the knobs I liked, so in a way it was kind of a custom. Or just go look online for a model that has what you want. Its out there. Buy that book as Lars suggested and alot of what you want should be there and will help with your pdf. If you want a '59 LP good luck with that Joe Bonamassa has them all.
  3. What holds a Bigs down? Never owned one. I assumed since you are raising and lowering a bar it just doesn't float there. So no screws hold it down?
  4. New Zappa vinyl day. 180 gram vinyl LP's. Dead quiet. I recently also got Zoot Allures, Apostrophe, Over-nite Sensation, Joe's Garage all III Acts, and We're Only In It For The Money. They sound better than my originals and the cd's I've had of them. Uncle Meat is on the way. I need to start buying all the 2009 re-mastered Beatles on vinyl. I have The White Album from 2009, and the 50th Ann, as well as Pepper and Abbey 50th on vinyl and all my old stuff, some is beat to hell cause I got them when I was 11 or so. Come on Let It Be. Stoked about the documentary. Haven't seen that movie since about '79.
  5. I think the biggest thing is just body appearance and neck size and shape. Do you want binging or not, glossy finish or not, what color, maple cap or not, flame or plain top, ect. Asymmetric neck, 60's neck, baseball bat neck ect. Once you have that every other part of that guitar can be changed and swapped out easily. Years ago I bought a body and neck off the Stratosphere and built the guitar how I wanted. The body was a LP Traditional Pro II with the 60's neck. I bought every thing I needed and the whole shabang cost about $1450.👍 Sold it about 2 and a half years later. Lost maybe $100. So basically it cost me $100 to rent the guitar for 2 and a half years. Or at a cost of $3.33 a month.
  6. With a vibrola you still have mount it to the top of the guitar. How would a Bigsby damage the SG. You would have to put screw holes in it to mount one or other.
  7. I was in the USN from 87-91. USCG 92-11. Discharged from the Navy at Treasure Island, CA in SF. Retired from the USCG in Yorktown, VA. I now work as a contractor for NASA in Hampton, VA doing maintenance for one of their wind tunnels. Would love to live back in Cali. But I am a poor retired military slob not Bill Gates.
  8. I was born in NJ but grew up in CA. Thank the Lord. Parents moved out of Jersey when I was 1.
  9. Tell us you wanted to buy it but didn't.
  10. The dealer is partially at fault for not checking but Gibson made those two guitars that are junk that you have been the recipient if so their QA is awesome. I find it hard to believe a neck just twists sitting at a store even though it hasn't been used and it more than likely left the Gibson factory that way.
  11. It's coming. He's probably squeegeeing the computer screen.
  12. I'm going no. That is not Gibson font on the stamped serial or made in USA. I hope you didn't pay 2k for that. ES-335's do not have Varitone's and it is in the wrong place. Logo looks wrong ect. Sorry. Probably a fake Bigsby too.
  13. It may be different living than New England but nowadays you can order anything in your underwear at 2am with a glass of whiskey in your hand, and a lot of times it will come the next day.
  14. They got it right on the 12'er. Maybe after the 12'er it was lunch and it was a 5 toke lunch instead of a 2 toke lunch. And you are the original and first owner?
  15. When I played eclectics I tried Duncan's and never liked them. I think RCT is a fan of them. Lindy Fralin, now that is a nice pup winder. Lollar too, but 'spensive as all get out.
  16. I played for a few years starting at 16, and give it up before I tuned 21. Joined the military for 23 years. In 2007 or so got a nice tax return back and decided to by a Fender Tele and have been playing ever since. I could in no way shape or form be in a band. I play for me and me alone. I suck and I know it. But I have nice guitars to suck on. Now here comes Big Bill.
  17. Twisted necks are the new straight ones. For a company that's motto Is "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough" they should be ashamed. But they already deposited your check and seem like they could care less. Even though Gibson Acoustic is the same company in reality they are not. I'm wanting a Dove or Bird myself.
  18. So Gibson just stopped all of a sudden making guitars right now at the current moment. I'd be so pissed. Get a refund and get a Martin.
  19. I would give it some Penicillin cause it looks infected.
  20. You also can't haggle for a gallon on milk. Kroger you want $2.99, I'll go $2.25.
  21. Gonna watch The Ranch on Netflix tonight. Last night it was Survivor. My wife loves it. I watch to have quality time together.
