No, but you should understand about inflation, cause you're as smart as anybody about business. The inflation thing happened when the gov't gave a bunch of money to businesses during the pandemic instead of giving it to the consumers at the bottom of the economic chain. And there's two ways to explain why that caused the inflationary bump. The first is the "too much money chasing too few goods" way. If they give the money to the comsumer, they'd make the businesses do something for their money, make some goods. They could have bought some new couches and TV's. Instead, they gave the cash to businesses like the travel industry when they were already ready to hunker down for a one-in-a-hundred-years event. No goods, high inflation. Give money to airlines? Really? The second way to look at it is the EC101 way. The first thing they tell you in economics is that the people at the bottom of the econnomic chain spend their money at a higher rate. Their money turns over faster and they're smarter with their money. Big money is dumb money. The healthiest economy happens when the rich guys earn their money and then lend it to the guys at the bottom. My son nabbed 300 grand from that payroll employee program, or whatever it was, for his restaurant while they were going to scrape by anyway. Just 'cause he has more savvy than somebody else. That doesn't help the economy as a whole. Now he's driving a new BMW and his friends call him Daddy. They could have given the money to his customers and he would have earned it and been just as happy. Now money is tight. There is surely not much "printing money" going on. It's the pandemic programs that caused inflation.

If this place had an empty dumpster and a life coach, half of us would be talking with the life coach and half of us would be looking into the empty dumpster to see how it smells.

I missed the part that was socialism. The free market part? Big money types owning and running manufacturing businesses cause they have too much cash to mind their own business? This problem is as far from socialism as you can get. Ten percent of you guys want anarchy and the other ninety percent want what they tell you to want.

Nice!! Welcome to the 335 club! -
I'd like to check out the Gibson Garage sometime. Just to swing thru. It's near Upper Broadway. There's a guy with a nice '66 Pro Reverb for $1850 somewhere in Nashville...

If You Missed Out On The Blue One There Is A Red One Now
badbluesplayer replied to Sgt. Pepper's topic in The Gibson Lounge
I wasn't talking about you or to you. Sorry to offend. There's probably a princess convention near you this weekend. See you there. I'll be the one in the fuscia dress. -

BFD. So somebody is complaining that they don't like one of Gibson's guitars cause they don't like the guy who endorses it. With all the stuff they've been through, we're lucky they're doing well. You tell me. If the regular yellow one was 1699 in 2016 and it was selling out like hotcakes then, and now it's 1799 and you can get one with a TOM birdge for 1999. So send me one. And thanks for reminding me how awesome they are. -
Very nice!!! 👍

Dang, I'd better check my looms whilst I have the chance...

Acoustic Amps. Are they worth buying?
badbluesplayer replied to KingJames78's topic in The Gibson Lounge
Here's my '74 1x15 combo - -
They're 0.022 uf capacitors, 400 volt, 716 series. That's what's in my LP 60's. They also use a 100 volt, 716 series. I didn't know there was such a thing until I looked at my SG. I like the 100 volt, 225 series. 100 volts is plenty of capacity. 400v 716 series - https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/capacitor-400v-716p-series-polypropylene 100v 225 series - https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/capacitor-orange-drop-100v-polyester

badbluesplayer replied to KingJames78's topic in The Gibson Lounge
I have one of those Ecoustic 110's like Sparky. It's a two channel amp, one for the guitar and one for a microphone. Very nice but it 's heavy. Most good guitar amps will work pretty well with an acoustic. It's kind of surprising. -

I'd like one of those TV yellow P-90 LP specials, like they made for a couple years around 2018. 👍 -
Just Used Sweetwater's Used Gear Site to Sell
badbluesplayer replied to badbluesplayer's topic in The Gibson Lounge
Nope. I have one of these, tho - -
I took the plate out because I wanted to see how much weight it would save. And just because... It saves 1.2 ounces. The plate plus the extra hardware minus some wire and serrated washers. And it looks cooler. Potentially more iconic. I still have to put the pickups back in.

Yeah, I don't think there are any auctions on Sweetwater's site. Not sure about Reverb these days. -
Just Used Sweetwater's Used Gear Site to Sell

That year had the "new and more exctiting" serial number format where they put the 19 right in front so everything would be easier to understand. I guess. I had to be very careful about being clear on the specs of the thing. I copied the text from the old Sweetwater sales listing.
