  1. Happy Easter to you all😄
  2. The very best wishes to them, having to live through Putin's atrocity's.
  3. Any of those are a handy thing to keep in your tool box. I think I found mine in Aldi, they seem to have all sorts of useful gadgets🙂
  4. It's always handy to have one of those tools around : Amazon.co.uk: magnetic retrieval tool or a highly dextrous wife (mine's retrieved countless picks from my 335!)
  5. Good to hear that you've solved all your problems and are now happy with your Les Paul, she looks a beauty. I think I'd avoid the shop where you bought it in future though. Enjoy it😄
  6. Very relevant today, I always liked this song. Sting really is an intelligent songwriter.
  7. Very nice, there's nothing like open-top motoring, enjoy🙂
  8. If you want another slant on the dreaded Bohemian Rhapsody and audience participation try this, its quite funny:
  9. Thanks for posting, this is what we're short of. We need more music in the Lounge🙂
  10. Yes Tega, I think most people would like to hear how you get on.
  11. Very nice, and welcome to the forum🙂
  12. Had this e-mailed through a Joe Bonamassa advert, I liked it so much I thought I'd post it here. It's amazing how innocent the audience look's in 1972, different times I guess, but the song still holds up!
  13. Totally agree, that guitar has its own unique character.
  14. Contact Gibson Europe again and explain that the shop refuses to play ball and were being downright awkward. Also, you didn't pay $5000 to make the shop happy, you paid it for them to make you happy.
  15. Tega, as I see it you have two options open to you. firstly the Gibson support route and as I mentioned earlier Gibson Europe will most probably want to ship it to Holland for inspection. It's worth emailing them, I've always found them pretty good to deal with. They will ask you to send them photographs first. Your second option is the legal route, you need to contact your local Trading Standards people, you'll find them at your local council offices, and take it from there. Personally, I'd contact Gibson support in the first instance, I'm fairly sure they will help you, and if you are still not satisfied you've still got the legal route against the shop, and having then done everything reasonably possible to have the fault rectified it will also strengthen your case.
  16. Tega, you will not have to go to the Netherlands, if Gibson Europe deems it necessary, I think they'll arrange collection and return. Don't worry about being a pain in the a**e, your not. Everyone on this forum will do everything they can to help you, you can be sure of that.
  17. Tega, I can see that this is upsetting you (it would upset anyone), but what you have been told is incorrect: "and being in the uk Gibson have told me I need to go through the store for assessment and warranty as they are the original owner (as such) so warranty is through them" Firstly from a legal point of view, your contract (which is what it is) is with the shop, not Gibson, you haven't done any deal with Gibson. Secondly, Gibson's after-sales service is pretty good, if you contact Customer Service via e-mail, they will forward your issue to their European service center which is in the Netherlands, who will get in contact with you: Contact (gibson.com) I'm fairly sure they will want to see your guitar and will arrange to and from the Netherlands and they will decide what needs to be done, be it repair or replacement. As a matter of interest, what guitar are we talking about and which is the shop you've used so the rest of us in the U.K can give them a wide berth.
  18. Tega, did you watch the video from "Black Belt Barrister" that I posted? The bloke's a barrister, a very highly qualified legal professional (they really don't get more qualified) and he explains your legal rights, as he explains, your contract is with the guitar shop, not Gibson. You could always organize a setup with Gibson's Virtual Guitar Tech: Gibson | Virtual Guitar Tech Service They will fix you up with a Zoom meeting, then you've done everything that you possibly could to resolve the problem. Regarding Ukraine, you really can't do anything about that situation, so it's not your problem.
  19. Sounds very good. I thing k my J-15 is great, everyone who plays it always as "is it for sale?" to which I always answer never.
  20. Hi Tega, If you want to know what U.K consumer rights are, it might be worth listening to this chap:
  21. I wonder if it's the same people who think Elvis is alive that think Paul is dead?
  22. I've met some charming Americans on my travels and in the U.S, some of whom I still keep in contact with. I recall one interesting conversation I had with a pair of young ladies at a hotel bar in New Orleans. When I was at the bar, they heard my accent and asked me where I was from to which I replied England, but they didn't know where England was, so I said the U.K, Great Britain, Europe, thankfully they knew where Europe was. They told me they were from Alabama, I've never been to Alabama, is it nice there? Once they found out that I was from England they wanted to know all about it, they also were quite charming. There are good people everywhere, it's just a sad fact that the unpleasant ones tend to stay in your memories for longer.
  23. I've never owned a guitar fitted with Burstbucker's but I'm pretty sure that they will be potted.
  24. I found this to be an interesting review of a 2013 R9, their won't be a great deal of difference between a R8 and a R9, and their are only small differences between a 2013 and a 2014 (just the glue I think).
