  1. I owned a L7 with this type of headstock inlay at one time . If I recall it was a 1937 or 8 Mine was the separated version. Not pinched together,
  2. I bet the person getting the labels ready. Messed up. Kind of weird seeing one number apart. But not surprising.
  3. If there not the Original Gibson items. There not historic. 😁
  4. True enough. I think in the 90s they were 1599 US list. Lets see where there off to when they come out again.
  5. Lack of seller info. Besides a J50 should be a 3500 ish guitar.
  6. I used to buy those mags monthly. Good reading material
  7. They are Nice Acoustics. Ive owned a few of the 40s Sjs.
  8. That will be tough to track . No serial number usually means no recovery. .
  9. Leave it original. Its showing its age as it should.
  10. Not really. Watch the guitar cases come in Watch the spotters ask. Excuse me sir. Whats in the case. Off to there table to do a deal At that time it was 100f ,humidity every bit as high. In the venue air flow sucked. Just so many people. And 7.00 for a bottle of water. I have pictures. A sea of Guitars as far as you could see. We had 50. At our booth. Sold a few prewar 28s. Bought a prewar Aj Fun times
  11. Yes they were. Went to Dallas a few times. Another really good show.
  12. I was at King of Prussia in 92 when Chinery was buying . Japan collectors were filling 40ft tractor trailers full to the roof of vintage guitars. Pretty impressive to watch. We had a table buy the front door.
  13. Chinery bought all the cool Guitars.
  14. Good question. 😁. But if theres that much money to spend. Blow it on that.
  15. Buy a 1500.00 guitar and put the rest into Gibson stocks. 😁
  16. People like to stir the pot. Personally if they bought a guitar and noticed it after. Thats on them. Not my issue. Not my problem. alot of Karens out there.
  17. Well. I think Gibson is to busy trying to get a perfect clone of the 59 Les Pauls. Which one Im not sure of. Im pretty sure a machine carves those out to the perfect crown everytime. So everything else related to Acoustics is not important . They have folks that can put the wood crooked into the jigs and blame the jigs for the problem. Between fit and finish and of the over inflated covid prices I wont buy another Gibson. Cant believe I said that after 15 years of buying everything in sight.
  18. They have boxes of cut headstocks due to quality issues . These little issues of mis alignments should be looked at prior to purchase. If your worried about not finding another guitar of the same kind with the same appointments for the good price. Your going to ask yourself. Should I have bought it? Or wait till another of the same shows up with a higher price tag all to find out it has the same issues as the last one you looked at. if you want a two piece back to line up with the center of the heel. You may have to spend more to get more. this is why I stopped buying over priced Gibson guitars. And its not just Gibson. or Martin , .
  19. Just a tad over priced on all of those.
  20. With the old bridge in hand the makings of a new one should be a breeze .
  21. I have a Style u where the pin block on the tailpiece gassed off. It actually corroded the tailpiece wire. It can spread to other guitars and there parts if not dealt with. I would be interested to know how to fix the issue. If it can be fixed.
