  1. They stripped right off for me and many others, two, maybe 3 or 4 gigs in. Grovers went on back then, still do for some of us. rct
  2. Ebay, Reverb, somebody has one. Acoustic Guitar Forum, Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum, somebody knows where you can get one. There are a couple of companies that will make you whatever you want. If Gibson doesn't want to sell you one, eff 'em and give the money to someone else. rct
  3. Like on a V? Ebay. rct
  4. What more do you want? rct
  5. I don't even want one of them there but after that I sure want one of them there. rct
  6. The PortaSudios were great! I will go the computer way when I absolutely have to. rct
  7. The Tascams are for people that don't want to use a DAW, for many reasons. Like me. Making a DP-32SD controllable over usb means making DAW software means managing and maintaining upgrades blah blah blah blah. Remember our TEAC/TASCAM 4 and 8 tracks? This idea is them today. Just as not perfect as they were, but if you have that workflow already, they are pretty much the same except for what comes out of the tape machine, which is an SD card. It doesn't need all the DAW nonsense, there is way too much of that stuff out there as it is. rct
  8. I've used 2488, then 2488 Neo, and for the last 5 years or so DP-32SD. A good workflow that you get the hang of very quickly. Good stuff. rct
  9. Close To The Edge once a month whether I need it or not! rct
  10. I've been using a couple of them for a very long time now. 15 years I guess. rct

  12. We'll have to go to the judges on this one, technically recorded in 1969, album not out until 1970, single not until 1971 when the show was on the television machine: rct
  13. Right. There are no absolutes in most things in this world, but especially in guitars. rct
  14. Happy New Year! Well, it's already January 5th or so in England, so a little late but, you know. rct

    Christmas….

From the little that was made public, Land Rovers every year for himself, his family, and the selves and families of an unknown number of executives. College funds for his own kids and the kids of an unknown number of executives. Travel. House(s). The usual Business as Personal Bank stuff that these people do. And then had the audacity to DEMAND that the bondholders take over the company and THEN declare bankruptcy, another loser that would and will do anything to keep his own name clean while he was the only one to filthy that company up. And the multi-million "consultancy" retainer he and an unknown number of executives had to receive for several years in order for him to declare the bankruptcy. In short, what a doosch. rct

    Christmas….

Because the previous Hero In Charge squandered all of their dollars. rct
  17. I have a side split in my 000-16. The mahogany was repaired and I didn't even ask for it because my darling dear Prudence had caused that split and I loved it. But Ernie fixed it. I know where it is and I can't find it, so there is hope that glue and cleat will work very well. rct

Still using my DR-880, it's still going. rct

    Christmas….

Not quite dope enough. Sequencing is a way different work flow than I am used to, I don't want to play a computer. Santa will take this back and I'll muddle on with my 20 year old drum machine until it dies and then I'll figure out something. It was two good tries though. Still, no Gibsons for me. rct

    Christmas….

Well, the TR-8S is certainly dope, but Santa heard me bizitching that it doesn't do what I need it to do as well as others do. So he nicely took my return and brought me: It is even doperer than the TR-8S and does what I need it to do. Very nice! I shoulda went with it first. Still, no Gibsons. rct
  21. I am reading Brothers and Sisters, a book that just came out. A good look at that record, probably the best record ever made, and how them guys were at that time. It is all based on Kirk West interviews. Very interesting re-telling of the re-telling of history. rct
