Gibson SG ‘61 Reissue signed by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi
rct replied to JoeyCalcagni's topic in Gibson USA
The stand must have been 30 ft tall to do all that. rct -
I haven't seen him since 1982 or so. He's still God to me. rct

Call the friggin cops and tell them there's a guy with a gun in the alley and you'll be here an hour later calling them back to tell them again and hope they get here in another hour or so. I can't wait to tell them one of my guitars has been stolen(has never happened ever to me or anyone I know) and see how lickety split they get here with the Tracking Thrombobulator Equipment. sheeeyayeah, that'll happen. rct

I'm sorry to hear of your struggle. I hope you get through this with as little pain and suffering as possible. rct

Even if your guitar life is on a stool in front of a mic while recording, or sitting on the porch for yourself, or doing acoustic sets from a stool during dinner: Get a good strap, wide enough, smooth/rough enough, whatever you like on the shirt side of it. I like it smooth on the shirt side, guitar moves around a lot while I'm playing. Set the strap up to the right length for you, and keep it that way. Spend as much time as you can walking around, standing looking out the window, moving in some way while you play. Helps keep your posture as good as it can be, keeps you from hunching over, extends your arm so you can get your shoulders into what you are doing, and is better for singing than hunchbacking it over your uber sweet vintage dreadnought. Couple hours a day if you can, I used to get up at 5am and walk around for an hour, today I have all day to plonk at it and I still do. I usually say this because that's how most of us spend time with our guitars, we are on our feet for three or two or four sets. If you are lucky enough to stool it for a night, it still helps to be used to standing. You'll be less tense up top, shoulders neck and back. That's my advice. rct

Enjoying a Rob Roy in Turin as we type. rct

It looks nice. I'm glad these folks keep this up, still one of the best guitar places left on the net. rct

I have been quite tempted a few times by those Casino Coupes. Coupii. Nice! rct

I'm one of those tools that keeps nothing in the case but the guitar. I got some gashes on the back of my #1 because the strap with lock went under the neck and got schlepped around for a few days. Straps off and in the big bag of gig stuff for me. I keep the bar in the strat cases. I don't know why, since I rarely screw it on and wouldn't care if it wasn't there. rct

My hat is off to you for the double contraction. I wish I'd've done that. rct

NICE! And thank you for naming my next record! rct

I know right? Frightens cats, knocks birds out of the sky, you'd think I could blow out the corrosion with a few thundering titanic electric lead guitar riffs and signature licks. rct

I use Dunlops on all of my guitars, and a few pairs are 20 odd years old, from guitar to guitar. Every couple years when I go through them all and set them up and stuff, I put a toothpick end dab of white lithium in the two guitar ends, strap 'em up and walk around for a while as I check out my awesome set up that enhances my epic shredding and sonic mayhem. Keeps 'em from getting too scritchy, which they do over time. rct

An Englishman, a Welshman, and a Scot went golfing with their wives... [laugh] [laugh] rct

And Joe Barden, he used to do that too. rct

Yes, he used to be at East Coast guitar shows trying to get big names to play his very early guitars, prototypes for what would be PRS guitars. Howard Leese was the first guy I ever saw using one. Paul and also Ed Roman. Good times. rct

Oh man. Made us a biggy. Tankin up for dinner, Game Of Thrones ends tonight. I think the show takes place in Scotland, so it makes sense. rct

Without whom there would be no Scotch. Without whom there would be no Rob Roy. And we wouldn't have Michael Symon's Angeline version, Rob Roy In Turin, a delightfully Italian take on the old cocktail. mmmm...a smokey glass of warm mmmmmm.... rct

Is it true the grain runs the other way over there? rct

Star Wars! You could make a fortune renting your house for the next couple months I bet. We'll be out west in September, if we swagger down into Cali you will be the first to know. Dinner at Napa Rose! rct

Good deal Rabs. I hope it goes long and well for you. I remember when I worked. rct

You are welcome. And I would have boxed it up and sent it along. Maybe even drove the hex on out there and dropped it off. Always up for the the interstates. rct

Oh how I chortled. rct
