  1. Without whom there would be no Scotch. Without whom there would be no Rob Roy. And we wouldn't have Michael Symon's Angeline version, Rob Roy In Turin, a delightfully Italian take on the old cocktail. mmmm...a smokey glass of warm mmmmmm.... rct
  2. Less than half the going rate for one. If 1200 Euro, best you can hope for is 600. That's the best. There are too many guitars that aren't broken for someone to spend too much on one that is broken. My advice to anyone looking to buy that would be "Pass". So you are up against a pretty big hill there buddy. Good luck with it. You might find exactly the right buyer that needs that exact guitar to fill a whole in their collection, and you could move it along. But it will take time and effort. rct

Never played one. Does the surface of the guitar feel like it looks? I was banned from the TDPRI. In the 90's. lolz rct
  4. I'm sorry my friend, but I am wrong, and in your agreement with me you too are wrong. I know I am right about this. rct
  5. I disagree and quite frankly, I find your posturing about the internet without any data disturbing. rct
  6. Nobody on the internet has ever changed the mind of someone else on the internet. Put your facts up and be done with it. If everyone stopped posting on the internet because other people didn't agree with them, factual or not, there'd be no internet. rct
  7. They didn't pay the bill, so they lost very very little. The t00ner company lost lots. Just sayin. rct
  8. One of the -s was from me. [laugh] [laugh] rct
  9. I admit it, I own it, I was wrong. You have a guitar that might, could, possibly, potentially, almost, nearly, definitely maybe is something else. I am wrong to believe the serial number and the people that made it. In fact, from now on, I won't even look at the serial numbers on guitars and I won't bother asking the people that made them, I'll just go online and ask a bunch of complete strangers what it is and look at pictures of very similar guitars and draw my own conclusions. Good luck with your guitar, I hope it is a good one no matter the pedigree. rct
  10. Aqualung, again. And Double Vision. We added them this month and it's been tonnes of funne. We are hanging with our original drummer this week, might even get original other guitar player out for a night, so the original Boys might be Back In Town. So I'm going over all the really old ones we used to regularly romp through. Maybe I'm a Leo and Hush, Thank You and Houses of The Holy by that fairly successful English band, Crossroads and Sunshine of yer Love by them other english guys, PuRpLe HaZe. Man. Stuff like that. Buncha GFR too, we still do I'm yer Captain and we'll do another bunch of theirs. Good times I hope. rct
  11. There was always a "Custom Shop". You called or wrote, threw down a lot of money, got what you wanted. Then came "Custom Shop", which was a way for the proletariat to argue over which was best. Seriously, how many times can the company that made 1959 Les Pauls make 1959 Les Pauls that are more accurate than last years? So there it is, 93, 95, somewhere in there was a "Custom Shop" for the rest of us. rc
  12. It takes about two minutes to lift the pickups and see what is penciled under them. If it says "LPC" you have an answer. If it says "CS 68 RI" you have an answer. If is says nothing you pretty much have to go with what the people that made it say it is. rct
  13. Why do people call up a company, get about as definitive a pedigree as you can get directly from the source, and then go on a forum and ask people to help them convince themselves that the guitar is different, more specialer than the people that made it say it is? Really. "CALL GIBSON" is the first thing anyone is told that asks "HOW SPECIAL IS MY SPECIAL?". I really just don't get it is all, it isn't an attack, it isn't personal, not slagging the OP or anyone in particular, just truly wonder why a call to the people that made it just...isn't...enough. rct
  14. The courteous, polite, well spoken non-political super geniuses in The Acoustic Forum haven't been able to provide you with every single detail, including who's DNA has been spilled on your Bozeman Masterpiece? lolz rct
  15. It started life as a free guitar to somebody. Radio give away, NAMM or other Guitar Show give away, raffle donation, that sort of thing. It's there to tell the buyer that every dollar they give for it is pure profit for somebody. rct
  16. Yeah man. We used to rock that one up, whole bar doin the whoah whoah whoooooaah... Good times. rct
  17. Nice! That sounds like a hoot. This is our Rams Head. Right around the corner, we'll eat there next week, our 38th. We have a new place up in Philly to go to that Friday so we are just taking it easy for our day, stop at Rams Head on the way home. Service is iffy, food is always good American grub done really well, and they know how to make a cocktail. https://www.ramsheadinn.com/ rct
  18. A night to remember for us. Place was packed when I got there at 6, they didn't start leaving until the end of the 4th set. Really happy crowd, lots of dancing and yelling. Our old drummer was there tonight. He did really great. We've rehearsed a couple times with him last couple weeks and he really brought it. Everyone sang well, only minor train accidents, no trainwrecks. A great night. My award winning world famous photography, set list: The rig. Man. Junky, stock except for straplocks garden variety ordinary Black Mexican Strat White Pearl pickguard one piece maple. Truly a joy to play that thing is. Used it for three, the other is Chris Shiflett Tele Deluxe. Shoreline Gold as you can see from the fabulous color saturation. 12" radius, two buckers, switch up top, two volume, two tone. It's my Goldtop. nyuck nyuck nyuck. rct
  19. I am sorry to hear that jdgm. Discipline. It's more than just a good idea, but really hard to get bandmates to abide by. Conversely, Friday night and Saturday night this weekend, both great great nights. Sang good, played good, they danced and clapped. Scored two for October and November tonight, that was another plus. We'll be off until the end of September, completely. No rehearsing, I'm away a couple weekends in August and then the whole month of September. Really really glad we had such a good playing weekend before we sleep a bit. The winter really picks up in a couple of dives that like us a lot, so we are hoping to be busy. gnight. rct
  20. A good night, 4th Saturday night out in four weeks. Rosewood neck'd Tele into Blues Junior and Fishman Loudbox Mini for the BOSS Acoustic Thrombobulator Machine. Not a big crowd, but a happy head boppin foot stompin dancin a little bit crowd. A full evening of covers, so hate away! rct
  21. I don't have that problem, I just leave them on. rct
  22. I had Lindy Fralin make me a pair for my #1 Tele. Don't pot them I said. Microfonik as fuk. Put them in another Tele and traded it. rct
