  1. Russos is my home store. Well… Asbury Park anyway. you can list for sale yourself for no fees in most guitar forums… like TDPRI or gearpage. Or CL. listing on Reverb will eat about 10% including shipping, and you might have someone insist on a return, and reverb will side with them. you can also consign it at Russos for 25%. I’ve done that. They deal with the shipping and nonsense. good luck…
  2. Rob that was fantastic. And it makes me friggin want a twelve string. And that’s a neat room you got there too.
  3. That’s great. Pitch perfect… nothinwrong there Bob!
  4. Anne… what a great experience, and a wonderful Dropbox share.
  5. I never heard this song before. But I dig it. Thanks Roger….
  6. I have K&Ks installed in my J45-TV and my Martin D15. I don’t think they sound great into the board alone. They need some EQ and specifically to dial back some bass and lower mids. They are definitely feedback prone. You will need a soundhole plug. I like the Fire Eye Red Eye preamp. It’s simple, has some minimal tone control, and a boost for solos. ps I played out last night with the Martin D15 direct into the board, and I wish I brought the preamp. I had intended to play electric.
  7. Gumby mine are 1.00 https://www.stringsandbeyond.com/clayton-picks-nsm-1-medium.html
  8. I’ve had the Blue Chip picks, and moved them on. I think my favorite pick is still the Clayton NuTone picks, which are cheaper, and I believe casein.
  9. Without the scroll I’d want to say 60s firebird or thunderbird?
  10. I’d sell it before altering the neck… by the way the same thing happened to me… with a Subaru Forrester in 2012. You are getting off easy.
  11. Before 2022 I steadily gigged in bars mostly. I must have done 25 a year for six years or so. Not a pro. Just an idiot playing songs that people like to hear because they remember them from their youth, mostly. Anyway, I have played D28s, D18s, J45s and J50s, LG2s, Taks, and Taylors. My lives sound was 100% about the mix and the pickup, and not the guitar. Towards the end I mostly resorted to My Martin D15 with a K&K, or a Taylor. now, I’m not a working musician playing for my nut, but any working musician, be they in crappy bars in Brooklyn or a Nashville, can play any number of fantastic offerings for under $1,000. the nice guitars we buy and play are marketed to us, just as Corvettes and Challengers are marketed to the guys a decade or so ahead of me. Older dudes with disposable incomes that love guitar forums. That’s what we are, and there ain’t no shame. I don’t begrudge the big guys for raising prices like every other product on this earth. heck we all made money in crypto. 🙂
  12. Congrats Roger! I’m saving my nickels for a sunburst J-50. 🙂
  13. Good luck Roger! You will love it. I’m down to just a few guitars now… the J45 TV and my D15. Consigned/sold the others. I’ll probably buy Taylor I want… That J50- I shouldn’t have sold, ha! By the way I played your 2013 J45 Standard recently… my buddy Mike loves it. He is battling an illness and I’m tuning it up for him while he gets squared away.
  14. Nice job! I love this song too. One forum member (Buc) has a killer ukulele version that’s magic as well. keep these songs alive.
  15. Brother… fantastic. A simple tune sung simply and perfectly. Love this tune.
  16. Phew. I did not die yesterday. Close though…
  17. Welcome back! my J45 is my one Gibson… it will go to my kids one day…
  18. Thank you for such a beautiful share! Missed me some Anne.
  19. I have a True Vintage, but I keep forgetting the year. i think it’s 2010. The neck is beefier than the newer Standards. ADI top. Advanced bracing. I’ve been wanting to treat it to a batwing guard, but I can’t bring myself to risk changing the tone. by the way I have a Taylor AD17 which I adore, but as much as I like it, it makes me appreciate the TV. It simply can handle everything. It can be strummed hard, and it never breaks up. It’s punchy with a thump when you mute strings. Boy what a great guitar. You miss it when it’s not around. I know this lesson well. By the way Mr. Paul, you following the NYY this season? 🙂
