  1. Have you checked this? http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2019/Memphis/ES-335-Dot-2019.aspx
  2. You seem to have done your homework on this. So where did the specs you quote come from? The store you bought it from? The 2018 Gibson specs will be listed, so I expect you have looked at them all for comparison. Therefore any variation here would be down to the previous owner customising the guitar. Have you checked back with the seller about this?
  3. I'm playing mostly at home now too. Not just because of Covid, our 20 year old band is fizzling out, with just a couple of gigs in prospect at any one time. It does feel weird, but its becoming the norm. I frequently play in the evening with the TV on. Just to keep limber mostly. For years it was unplugged, but now I like to hear what I'm playing too. Like you I will keep one setting going for ages.
  4. There are a large number of old thread resurrections across the site always from newbies. I had thought this was one fellow, creating sock puppets & messing about. But now I see another where someone has replied to a 9 year old thread but clearly done some research into it, so I really don't know. Got to remember to check those dates! Maybe the mods have some insight?

But now I see another where someone has replied to a 9 year old thread but clearly done some research into it, so I really don't know. Got to remember to check those dates! I'm re-posting this as a new thread so set your deja vu alarms to stand-by.
  6. My guitars suit me well, but they aren't as pretty as these. Especially Fester's acoustic, Sarge's BBKing...
  7. Well I have the THR30 latest update, but the G10T relay has to be attached for that update to work. Meanwhile I've just done a sample vid (camera mic only sadly)
  8. I dont have any reading matter I can suggest Brad. I have however been through this with my mother, and was here carer for some years before she needed specialised care. I cannot and will not sugar coat anything for you. This is a dreadful illness and its very hard to deal with. I had little in the way of family help. I suggest discussing this with your brother and any other family. Its better to be coordinated with your approach to this. Its better for your mother and its much better for the rest of you too. There are drugs which can slow down the onset of this. If she has no historic/pre-existing digestive disorders, she should be ok to use them. Even if Power of Attorney is not needed yet, prepare the way. It can take time. Her doctor (and maybe legal adviser) should be consulted about when it the time comes. I'll return with further suggestions later. Meanwhile, gather your thoughts and discuss options. Good luck.
  9. Cheers guys. Its arrived and I've been playing.... a lot! As mentioned, I dont have the chargeable guitar relay. So no risks there yet. I've done some quick tryouts of sounds and guitars. It loves the Tele, so I keep returning to the neck pickup cleans. Tomorrow I'll download the manual and the phone app. Only the phone app will get me access to the innards of it. 🙂
  10. So much for good wishes... 😦😕
  11. Theres a nicely priced 335 studio here at Reidys uk https://www.reidys.com/electric-guitars-c14/gibson-es-335-studio-wine-red-p7335/s7745?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=gibson-es-335-studio-wine-red-0000000300636&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&cid=GBP&gclid=Cj0KCQjwl4v4BRDaARIsAFjATPl9nc1qEmkCK_T7g3F1FlIGogCEdE6J-ooDIKavhvnH24-XxuX2Ry0aAoZTEALw_wcB Its the same finish as my 339 (wine). I could go for this myself if it was similarly speced.
  12. I joined May 2015 after buying my 339. I wanted to know what to do about the G binding in the nut. At that time I didn't think I'd last. I was so shocked at the passionate outcry against the Nashville models (the 339 was then Memphis of course). Really glad I did stick around. I learned a lot here. Still am too.
  13. If I could choose a classic LP, it would look like that. Love the finish and gold hardware. I would almost certainly take the pickguard off though. Tidy
  14. I've had this on order for two months. With my other gear in place in the studio, I've had nothing suitable to plug into downstairs since lockdown. I thought the time right to get something dedicated for home use. Its due for delivery today, so I am sticking around indoors. Tracking just says it was received at Southampton depot, and is out for delivery 'by the end of day'. So pretty useless tracking then. This is the Yamaha THR30iiW. One of the smaller ones was available from Coda Music in May but I held out for the big one. I don't have the the wireless guitar relay. Maybe later.
  15. Many Happy Returns of the Day to ya man! and to BadBluesPlayer too👍
  16. Speed bumps? Sometimes I think I must be the sole person on the planet to let go of the strings/neck before shifting position. I find 'sliding' to be slower. Its also noisy sliding over wound strings.
  17. Hi Randy, That is a very appealing good looking LP. I much prefer un-figured grain for tops. Glad you are enjoying it. It would probably have been better to has started a new NGD thread rather than resurrect a 2018 one, but I suppose you found this on a search? Congrats on the Tribute and thanks for the GC info.
  18. Welcome to the forum Slade. This thread dates from 2008 and Helion hasn't posted since January 2015. So unlikely to be useful to him now, but good job on the ID nevertheless.
  19. Yes I noticed that too. Cant have too many good wishes though.
  20. Me too (though I've got 4 months on you). Same age as the Strat.
  21. That's it! It makes evaluating your own sound so much simpler.
  22. Its probably seems odd that we Brits should be glad about it too, but we are. Happy Holiday! https://authordylanhearn.wordpress.com/2014/07/03/5-reasons-why-the-british-should-celebrate-4th-july-redux/
  23. Just checked the site. Delivery estimates are based on 'suppliers normal delivery time scales'. Currently your model is: Available for order 22nd - 29th August Good luck
  24. Always glad to hear a positive review. Thanks.
