  1. let me guess... All trays were filled with specialist media, except the bottom one, which had 2 sheets in it?
  2. When I had central heating installed, one radiator was installed right under my dining room hercules hanger. That rad has never been used. I could have moved the hanger, but the other rad in that room is warm enough. The rads in my studio room & bedroom have also never been used. Need to be so careful around guitars. My 70's Fylde acoustic suffered mild damage due to the opposite; - very cold weather.
  3. an image hosting site. Join one and upload your images. Copy the image link and paste it here. In Imgur I use the 'direct link' which looks like this : <https://i.imgur.com/xWwpo1l.jpg> (without the angle brackets!) . I will now re-paste my pic below (less angle brackets)
  4. I've never heard of this before and I dont own an SG. I do however have some long necked (neck joint at 24th fret on one) guitars and a couple of thin necked guitars. I have had to learn different ways to play chords due to thumb osteoarthritis. This is the reverse of your issue. I cant apply back (thumb) pressure to the neck, so use my fretting fingers unsupported. Obviously this can be done (because I've done it). The neck is kept steady by bracing the body against my torso using the left arm. This might be an extreme 'fix' for you, and it might might still de-tune your neck due to the lack of support? I feel sure your problem is fixable though. I cant help but wonder. Is your SG ok? Could it have taken any damage somehow?
  5. Preparing for my dance class. Its a fine sunny day, so I'll walk. Should take 50 minutes. So there & back should give me 10,000 steps plus whatever I gain from the hour I spend there.
  6. A major scare, but that's a great attitude you have there. Just heed the warning & find ways to take better care!
  7. Its pretty weird. The shutter was open between 4 to 5 seconds. The lens is a 75mm. Its a macro; so quite a few elements in there. I still think its likely to be bounced oncoming headlights.
  8. I am not speaking of the headlight trails, but the beams. When driving the dipped beams extend in front of the car and illuminate a portion of the road in front of the car. That is missing. Look at where the trails end (when the shutter closed). There is no section of road illuminated by the beams.
  9. Good to know. Glad the guitar escaped intact. 👍
  10. ok. These have been cropped, overexposed and reduced in file size.
  11. Even more bewildering is the headlights. In the top pic, left hand lanes. These cars are traveling away from the camera: Also in the main pics, notice the headlights of vehicles do not extend in front of the light trails. Why is that? The cars cant 'catch up' with the headlights. And they were certainly not traveling at light speed. It beats me!
  12. I did post this a little later 'I found overexposing some of the other pics also showed double green lines. One has a purple halo. Its probably some internal lens flare bouncing between lens elements. Two oncoming headlight trails? I'd still prefer a more colourful & silly explanation though.'
  13. Dweezil: Nice, but not a very coherent lesson IMO. Frank's bikes: never heard of nor seen this before. Really wonderfully good. Thanks for sharing.
  14. I posted these on my FB page a short while back (Aug 31) with this message: A lay in this morning. Up at 4.15am. Went to photograph these light trails between J11 & J12. A hours walk. Got kettle on now. Can I appeal to you spooky theorists please? I need help identifying the 4 green lines in the R/H carriageway of the square pic. I didnt see these but they are in the pic. The green lines?: These are some replies: It looks a bit like reflective strips on a jacket. But doubt any one would be walking on the motorway . It does look a bit like that. No 'body' there. I promise you this is not some trick I've cooked up! It seems to be 3 pairs of parallel lines (left pair are superimposed) hovering above the fast lane. The lines indicate movement of a light source. Perhaps these are the jackets of 3 spectral road diggers. Two are leaning over inspecting the tarmac. The third is standing saying "opps! We forgot to put out the cones boys..." perhaps you have caught their "spirit" from workers who are on the "other side" Whoa! Instant transfer to the inside lane? Interesting. I even looked up M27 fatalities in bed this morning! Glow worms Looks like a pause, & skip forward & backwards buttons
  15. Tuesday early morning: Gardening is scuppered due to wet weather. So had to ask my gardening help mate to stand down. I do have a partscaster project that I have barely begun, but that will entail outside working also, so probably not. I could visit my friend Anne in Southampton, but she's a late riser (daren't call before 10.30am) so I may just take a punt & get the train there. Whatever I do, I need to get out of the house and take my wet weather walking gear. bottom line so far: Dunno. Need another cuppa tea.
  16. Good job. Top vid (WalkinOnSunset): Could not see visuals (except for preview). Next one down: Perfect. Ticked a 'like'. Stormy Monday: Perfect. Enjoyable solo too. Very good sound capture. Better than anything I have managed live. 👍
  17. I do recall vividly a pic of yours (with a Queen Anne style chair). I didn't know there had been USA ones. There is a 2001 Japanese one at guitarguitar: D'Angelico NYSS-3 Blue Burst which is very handsome indeed.
  18. There ought to be, but almost nobody takes it seriously 😉. My big purchase year was 2015, which accounts for both of my Gibsons among others. I've just seen another! A nice used plain top Class 5 Gibson LP. Help!
  19. Pip, the two you have linked are quite a bit cheaper than the one I have shown. It seems that production has switched from Korea (to Indonesia I think). I get the impression that the MIK ones at GV are reduced because new stock is coming in cheaper. They are still a lot dearer though. They have 3 MIKs in all including an EXL-1. I was attracted by the Deluxe DC because its ebony fb. Seymour Ds: Well if I ever try these D'Angelicos out, I will set aside my aversion and give it a fair assessment. I am likely the only player anywhere with a poor opinion of SDs, but that has simply been my experience so far. I've had a couple of guitars with SDs, and not liked them at all. The same holds true listening to others.
  20. nearly forgot. I think I like this one too. However, I would have to try it out and its a long way off from me. I dont like flame finishes, but other than that, its pretty much perfect. 2018 HP SG Standard.
  21. The first thing I noticed was that generous neck width. I absolutely love that; and the adjustable nut also. Its a beaut. Enjoy!
  22. There are 2. This MIK D'Angelico Deluxe DC in chameleon finish which has been reduced a couple of times (just raised up again). I haven't tried it out (yet). The only thing that puts me off is it has Seymour Duncan pickups. This MIJ Fender Esprit (Elite version. about 1985). Too late now. I've just checked and its been sold.
  23. I have an aged and pretty cheap 'General Keyboard' model. Only the piano & organ voices are remotely believable. I use it exclusively for recording. The transpose function is useful for someone like myself who can only play in very few keys. I have tried to find something better in the past, but no luck so far. I find the tech complicated!
  24. Glad to hear it. They are beautiful guitars.
