  1. Nice Sal, guitar sounded real good to me... and you sounded as good as usual :)!
  2. I don't know anything about Yamaha guitars, but I use a basic Kyser capo that works on several of my guitars without a problem. I'd start there, and if you still have a problem go to the place you bought the guitar or find a good luthier and have a proper set up and investigation into the problem done.
  3. Thank you sir! Twice a year is about 4x what I was thinking, what's the danger of doing it less? (This is for a daily player so not something spending most of the time in a case if that makes a difference).
  4. Good stuff, thanks for posting!
  5. I don't know, I agree with you on the gold, so although I wouldn't do it myself, I'd be more than happy to pay someone in the know to do it, so chipping does not happen.
  6. Folks, how frequently do people clean and condition their fretoards, is it a once a year thing, or could it be stretched out to every couple / few years (I have heard concerns of doing it too frequently and causing gunk build up)?
  7. If this is on the guitar I'm thinking, it's pretty pricey and pristine and would want to keep it that way. I'd invest in a trusted luthier for this one.
  8. married 18 yrs... or so? Took about 12 - 15 yrs, but have hit a good rhythm and happy for our place...
  9. Fun with inventory, you had some nice guitars, now have some really good ones, and looking to augment well - good luck! I'd be missing the BB King.
  10. Thank you, I believe there's a bit of poet in you 🙂
  11. Nice description, thank you. Any way I could flip the question and ask where you feel it would shine (opposed to where you'd avoid using it)?
  12. Congrats! Hoping for an A/B of your J45 🙂
  13. Very nice - appreciate the demo. Feel the strings sound good on it.
  14. That's a nice to do list... looking forward to upcoming NGDs 🙂
  15. Wow, that's super sweet!
  16. So I've been thinking about this Tom, and the individual demos are more than impressive, but only part of the story - I think we need to better understand how these instruments fit within a mix. If you ever get a hankerin' you should assemble a cast of your blue grass cohorts for a day or two and replicate the lead and rhythm demos for a few (as many as possible) of your guitars. ...in the name of science 🙂. Keep all the other instruments the same, just swap out guitars.
  17. call me a homer, but I liked the '62 hummingbird best for both lead and rhythm... although there's not any i'd kick out of bed for eating cookies. I don't believe I saw any maple in there did I?
  18. Thanks Jinder - appreciate the reply! ...and the stuff I learn, if it crosses your mind, let us know how you make out with changing the pins and the resonant node.
  19. Sad news, those folks brought a lot of fun times to my life.
  20. I know it was for 62B, but hope you don't mind - listened to it myself. Nice sounding guitar!
  21. Hey Jinder - all this maple activity had me wondering how the maple AJ has integrated into your playing life. Is it in your regular line up of guitars you use when you gig out, or are there specific occasions you use for it... and are you still smitten? Call me 'maple curious' 🙂
  22. That's cool, would love to see her live... her and the civil wars, but I think they broke up.
  23. yep... for the record, here's the first thing i'm looking to try to piece together. Joy by Lucinda Williams. ...love a little L. Williams in the morning 😉
