  1. My favorite is the GFS Mean 90's but they also come as Dream 90's which also sound really good but not quite as hot.
  2. I have been an Epiphone fan since I got my first one in 64. I have had a few of the early Epiphone solid bodies and loved them. The cost of guitars today is crazy when compared to what I paid in the early 60's. But if you dead set on owning a Gibson, Fender or Rick etc. you won't be happy till you get the right label, like owning a Gucci bag. In the US it seems we pay more for our products than anyone else does. If you travel to other countries this will become very apparent. I sold my Gibsons after moving to Hawaii because I found the Nitro wasn't holding up very well in the high humidity and started acquiring mid to upper level Epiphones with P90's, of which I have gone through several in my quest to find the best configuration for me.
  3. Epiphone ES-335 and ES-339 Note: it seems these come with 2 wire Epiphone USA Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers and CTS pots.
  4. These have been missing from the lineup for a while and pushed me over my limit. I just bought a new 339, it isn't even broken in yet, then I saw these and couldn't help myself, just had to have one..
  5. Yes they do, they are a direct HB replacement from Guitar Fetish. They also come in Nickel and Chrome..
  6. My modified new Inspired by Gibson ES-339 with the new headstock, C profile neck, Grover Rotomatic tuners, CTS pots, I replaced the Epiphone USA Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers with HB sized Mean 90's and added a Les Trem II.. It has a wonderful feeling fret board and sounds incredible..

    NGD!!!

Probably Baha or Baja.. Note: Reviews say they are very high quality guitars, the only thing mentioned on occasion was switch, which RCT is replacing anyway..
  8. Oh dear, I forgot to show the new Crestwood.. In the early 80's I found a Silver Fox in a pawn shop which I thought was just weird green Epiphone. Later traded it off for something with a Floyd Rose, now, a 60's Coronet Silver Fox can bring up to about 6k. One of the many times I fumbled... Oh well... 🤢 🤮
  9. No actual new word I have seen on them so far..
  10. Thanks guys, I had a few different models of these back when they almost new, I did have a 64 that was brand new, I miss them all very much.. The Wilshire Solidbody Electric Guitar Mahogany Body Mahogany Neck and Indian Laurel Fretboard Medium "C" Neck Profile Medium Jumbo Frets 24-3/4" Scale Length 1.693" GraphTech NuBone Nut Width, 12” Fretboard Radius Epiphone PRO P-90 Soapbar Pickups 2 Volume and 2 Tone Controls, CTS Pots Graphtech Nut LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ Bridge and Stopbar Tailpiece Epiphone Deluxe Tuners with Ivory buttons Nickel Hardware •••••••But if you like the Jr DC style, you may like the Epiphone Coronet.. •••••••
  11. I just bought one of these a couple of days ago from Music Zoo. I have been trying to find one I could afford for a long time, original or re-issue. I was very pleased to get this one for 449 with free shipping to Hawaii. This one also has full sized CTS pots and a C profile neck like my new 339. The 2009 Gibson Custom Shop version disappeared very quickly and the price kept going up. Currently this USA version is selling used for around 3k. My Wilshire should be delivered in about a week..
  12. The holes in the bridge for the posts are spaced differently as well.

My phone has built in blurry effect. It looks really Kool even without blurry, nice pickup range to select, position 2 and 4 could sound interesting with the center pickup in reverse polarity. But you may not need that with noiseless pickups... Enjoy..
  14. 10 Amps, 10 Electrics Guitars that I play, not counting Bass, Lap Steel or Acoustic, oh also 2 mini Amps
  15. Its an original Kalamazoo Epiphone design, waiting to see how well the Qingdao plant built it.
  16. Yep, one of them, they have more.. Note: Gibson and Epiphone bridge parts are not compatible, Gibson is SAE and Epiphone is metric. The Wilshire's volume and tone pots are full sized CTS like Gibson The tuning keys are compatible size with the Gibson Kluson style. Personally I prefer the sound of the Epiphone P90 Pro's over the current Gibsons and I think they also seem to be less effected by line noise.
  17. Ok so this is an Inspired by Gibson 339 not original Epiphone design, but just had to put it in here..
  18. My new 339 below has a very nicely done scarf joint which is well concealed, it is right under the QC label. Scarf joints tend to be stronger through the break angle than solid wood, which Gibson has used on some models with unusual headstocks. I think that once the stock of necks with other headstocks for pre existing models gets used up they would likely return to one piece necks. Note: that the previous models with clipped ear or more ornate headstocks did not have scarf joints. My other new Epiphone below doesn't appear to have one, being a new model its likely it doesn't. I will find out in about a week when it arrives..
  19. Eric Clapton - Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad Clapton version..
  20. If Gibson acquired Dobro in 1998 Gibson it would have to be newer, but if its old maybe a prototype from the 40's... maybe... Article https://www.vintageguitar.com/30152/a-guide-to-vintage-dobros/ The U.S.’ entry into WWII was a death blow to resonator guitars. President Roosevelt issued a limitation order restricting the use of critical materials. Louis Dopyera saw the handwriting on the wall. Within weeks of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he sold all the assets of National-Dobro to himself and with his former employees Vic Smith and Al Frost started the Valco Corporation to go into war work. According to Smith, Valco sold the Dobro hardware it had on hand to Gibson. Gibson experimented with a few resonator guitar prototypes in the 1940s, but never put any into production. After the war Valco returned to the instrument business, building electric guitars. Regal struggled along and declared bankruptcy in 1954. Not until the folk music revival of the ’60s would anyone make another Dobro. The article link below says Serial number 101-401 were manufactured in 1967-1970, which is before Gibson bought Dobro in 98 ..... http://www.guitarhq.com/dobro.html
  21. I think you need a Hummer. I fell victim to a guitar from my past, it should be here in about a week.
  22. My favorite guitar for Come Together (kind of Aerosmith style) is my Blueshawk, but my 339 is working quite well too.
