Victek
I'm happy to say I recently picked up my new Epiphone Dot from GC. I was very pleased with how well setup the guitar was right out of the box. The neck was straight, action low and intonation right on. I only needed to change to my preferred strings. The newer pickups are brighter than those in the used Dot I had previously and I like the Grover tuners too. By the way everything except the cord was in the box, so it seems like that's not included anymore. Here's a pic showing off the perfect sunburst finish... Aster1
HNGD!! Beautiful color & love that black Pick Guard on it too. What's the main diff. in a Dot & 335 styles? I know the Casino is a hollow body & the 335 is semi (with the center brace in it). Glad it meets with your expectations. It's not too much to axe to have things you pay good $$ for work out okay IMHO. Aster

Regarding the Epi 335 Pro, the pickups have the coil splitting feature. It also has block inlays, white edging (binding?) along the neck edges and vintage tuners. Definitely a nice guitar, but I didn't feel the need for those extras. The Dot is essentially the same guitar AFAICT and I actually prefer the Grover tuners to the vintage ones. dporto
She's sweet! I actually prefer the chrome hardware to the gold that's on mine...Who needs steenking coil taps anyway? Why would you want your 335 to sound like a strat or tele ?

Why would you want your 335 to sound like a strat or tele ? It won't sound like a Strat or Tele, even with push-pulls, and that's a good thing. Cougar
I'm happy to say I recently picked up my new Epiphone Dot from GC. Congrats! That's a beauty. I love my Big Red. I was very pleased with how well setup the guitar was right out of the box. You're lucky. Mine was not set up well. Thanks to this site, I found a great local tech who did a great job. Dots are hard to beat!

Thanks to this site, I found a great local tech who did a great job. Dots are hard to beat! Yes, the Dot is really a lot of guitar for the money. As to setup fortunately I can do most of it myself. I might still have the neck done by a pro at some point because a neck/frets can never be too level :-) By Big Red I'm thinking you have a cherry finish...? I like the look of the Cherry and the Black finish too (the Natural not so much) My fav actually is the Iced Tea Burst I had long ago on a Gibson 345, but it's not offered in the Dot line. Cheers! With really nice grain underneath the cherry. I like your burst too... and the black... and the natural, which I got on my 339. As they say, it's all good! charlie brown
really sweet Dot !! nice grain & I love the more traditional body shape they've gone back to. now i'm gassin' for a VB Dot ! Me Too, Bender!! Just looks (and IS) more correct, to the original Gibson's. Epiphone Dot's are an Awesome value/dollar, investment...IMHO. Congratulations, Victek, on an great looking, and playing guitar! I'm quite sure you'll enjoy it, for a long time! CB
Cougar
Nice! Do you feel the binding when you play? Love one! Do you mean the lack of neck binding on a Dot? 339s have neck binding, which I like, though as somewhat of a beginner, I'm really not that discriminating.... Stevie Nazarenie
No on the body. I went to my local guitar shop to try one. "no Epiphone or Gibson..." Mmm. Not even a bad copy on the wall! :(
