dhanners623
Well, if you're gonna write a protest song, you best write it on a Gibson.... The lyrics: We Will Not Bend © 2016 by David Hanners I will not bend, I will not break, I will not give in to hate There's too much at stake for us to bend, for us to break I will not bend, I won't go away, will not back down, here to stay Brothers and sisters must get their say, we will not bend or go away We will not bend, we will not bend We will not bend, we will not bend We will not bend, we will not bend I will not bend and I won't leave, I ain't got time to bleed Here tyranny gets no reprieve, we will not bend, we will not leave I will not bend, I will be a spark that lights a candle in the dark The moral universe is an arc, we will not bend, we'll be a spark (chorus) I will not bend, I will not be quiet; injustice feeds on silence Peaceful protest is not a riot, we will not bend, we won't be quiet I will not bend, I will not break, I will not give in to hate There is too much at stake for us to bend, for us to break (chorus and end)

Buc McMaster
Well played........love a tune employing a banging guitar style! I will say that declaring one will not bend is sometimes a prelude to being broken..........the old immovable object running up against irresistible force thing..........something's gonna give. Indeed, but I think too much bending got us to where we are. Keep bending and eventually you're flat on the ground.

Lars68
I liked that song a lot! You play a mean rythm and the melody is very catchy. Great job! Lars
OldCowboy
I approve heartily - the lyrics nicely avoid the extremes of blunt force trauma and sickly sweetness that were far too common in 1960's protest songs. Guitar-driven ain't bad! I'm hoping that, in our current Brave New World, more protest finds its way into song and, further, that it's as tastefully done as yours. 👍👍

OldCowboy
Love the song and the guitar. Is there an elephant in the room? Not sure about the elephant, but let's just say it wouldn't come as much surprise to this weary old Sasquatch😁

E-minor7
It's a song for people who refuse to do any string bending out of fear it'll throw their guitar out of tune.... Point taken - Then again a strong set of steel on a good healthy guitar can take a fair amount of bending - it adds to a wider range and basically freer expression. . E-minor7
Which jam is that? The great groove ahead where we learn not to be afraid to mend, blend, , , and bend together. I personally look forward to an A/B between our Epi inspired by 1964 Texans. Plus some harmony singing. .
