huckster
I have a couple of pickguards for my ES 339 studio. The guitar is a gloss red. I cant decide which pickguard to go with . The white pearl or the tortoise. Both look great. Opinions?
Mr. Natural
I'm a fan of the tortoise pickguard.

merciful-evans
I think they look much better without the pickguard or the hole you have to drill to attach the pickguard.
gnappi
I put a 5 ply black/white on my walnut finished 339.
kaicho8888
Tortoise might clash with the red. White is better than tortoise; but might be too contrasting to the dark red, clash with the binding and pickup rings. The black with 5ply binding on the pickguard edge would be the best to go with your body binding and pickup rings. But you do what you like and you can change it anytime to suit your mood.... we just want to see pics!!!
sunking101
Black for me. I have a red tortoise pickguard on my pearl white strat elite but wouldn't want one on a red 335. White would look even worse IMO. Oh and scratchplates are a must on a 335. They look wrong without them. 🤨

huckster
Well it's not very good resolution, but it's the best I could do.

Yeah, that looks nice ... and I think it is your best bet. Honestly, I am not sure pearl white has looked good on anything but a black Strat. Just my opinion...
Same Guy
I put the "short" ES guard on my 2017 ES-335 Studio. I like it a lot better than the no pickguard look. Edited September 13, 2019 by Same Guy
Twang Gang
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm sorry to say I don't think that white pearl fits in with your red guitar. It just doesn't match anything else on it. I think maybe black would be a better choice. Tortoise shell is reserved for natural finish guitars.
