uncle fester Posted August 11, 2020 Share Posted August 11, 2020 Hey folks - I began my guitar career as a fender strat guy into a blues jr. Over time things happen, sold my strat - took over my wife's SG and now I'm an SG guy. I still play it through my blues jr and have no issues - but I'm under the impression gibsons pair well with Marshalls - so figured I'd look at other ways to spend money. There's a silver jubilee version too. but the B Jr comparable sized Studio's are like 3X the cost of the DSL or B. Jr. but hey,, it's only money right? Definitely more bang for the buck. two channels, and some voicing options. The Studio's are really nice, but they are expensive, and don't offer on board "verb".. Pepper Posted August 15, 2020 Share Posted August 15, 2020 (edited) I know its not a Marshall, but I had a Mesa TA-15 that is switchable form 5/15/25 watts and had switches that were made to voice it like a Vox, Marshall and of course the Mesa sound. Its a small lunch box head, so you would need a cab. I rarely took it off the 5 watt setting and on the 25 you could barley tell the difference from the 15 watt. A freind has the stouter version TA-30. I think that switched 15/30/40 watts. The 30 has reverb and a fx loop where the 15 is void. She lives in a townhouse and I'll bet her neighbors love her.
