I went and saw a touring exhibition from the national guitar museum today. It's called "America at the crossroads: the guitar and a changing nation".

Here's some of what I saw;

Did they have any attractive guitars there or was it all like that?

Yeah they had the standard fare of the icons, and a lot of acoustic instruments.

It was kind of a whirlwind history of guitars moving from the parlor to being front and center live onstage, lot's of videos playing on monitors in amp cases.

My first ever guitar had 4 pickups too. Very similar to this. It was a horrible thing. The neck bowed up after a year (no truss rod) & I got rid of it. Those buttons at the top are PU selection. They all sounded cr@p except 1 or maybe 2. Its the guitar you buy before you know anything.

Back in 2019 I went to the same traveling Exhibit in NH, they called it "Medieval to Metal" then and were tracing the art & evolution of the Guitar.

They had a good mix of Oddball ones and Standard ones, the "Crossroads Guitar" was there as well, I really liked that one for all the carving work done.
It was commissioned by the Museum and carved by Doug Powell of N.C. to represent the myth of Robert Johnson and the Devil buying his soul

Had a different Teisco, an interesting green one as well as a Godwin Guitar Organ.

Really nice exhibit is it's near you to see.
