Aaaaand  so I'm banned from that other forum, for the next 8 days at least.

And I have no idea why.

The anonymous notice I got implied some sort of perception of misogyny on my part.
Which is crazy, because I love women.
And I fear them.

Man.
Can't step out into the telecaster yard without stepping in telecaster shiit.

Clearly they are not REAL Telecaster players if that's what you encountered.

Or, to be fair, maybe THEY are the true Telecaster players, and I'm not cut from the proper cloth.

I call guitar pickups "pickups", instead of Pups.
Clearly a crime in some circles.

I play guitars in person before I buy them, instead of debating ad nauseaum all over the forums about which guitar I should buy online, and then ordering said guitar, and having it shipped to me sight-unseen, only to be disappointed, and quibble with the seller over some nonsensical point of quality control.

I'll admit this much.
Maybe they are the virtuous and right ones, and I'm wrong like two Nuns in a hot tub.

Bans are fun. I’m good at it. Freedom Of Speech My . . .

I’ve heard this is a Family Forum. Seen The Disney channel lately? That’s family oriented. Well it’s not it’s a $ making business that wants to make a profit. Like Gibson. What 13 year old can afford a TM aged LP?

None unless your dad is rich.

I'm  confused.

Why just the other day here I called 'em "pups". I was kindly corrected with a meme of a pair of cute fluffy white pups, puppies! I was so, so, tearily sorry. So I self sequestered to a corner in my room not speaking for a period of time.

Fluffy white puppies. That's one heckle of s guilt bomb ppl. Jssst don't know if I could bear it again.

My neighbors have a fluffy white pup named Bosco.
He's a real sweetheart of a dog.
I think he's a  Great Pyrenees.

I call him The Hound Of The Boscovilles.
He likes me a lot.
In fact, everytime he and his owners greet me on the street, he tries to throw a hump on me.

That's love right there!

Sparky, you may want  to watch out.   Neighbor might get mad at you for mis-appropriating  the affections of their dog.   Our neighbors had a cute pit bull mix I befriended.  They kept him in the backyard from sunup to sundown, so I think he was somewhat attached to me.  Possible they wanted a 'junk yard dog' and didn't like his tail wagginess.   Anyway - one day,, he disappeared.    Better him than me, I guess - but  they never got another one.

Nah, I'm good with these neighbors.
We all get along fine.
They are wonderful people.

And besides, Bosco  technically belongs to their grown son, who is building a house on some land just south of here.
As soon as he gets the house complete, Bosco The Wonder Humper will reside down there permanently.

No seriously, I’ve been told that when some of my posts were rule breaking. I’m sure it came from a Mod.

Probably why they call them 'Moderators'.

Thats why your the smart guy with the MBA and I just have a lame BS in Liberal Arts.

It’s funny it’s family friendly on one of the most unregulated places in the planet - the internet.  I wonder if that same 13 year old who comes here for LP advice can be on a porn site in  3 clicks, then delete the history so his parents don’t know?

I got banned from that one plus one of the other ones they run. Found out the hard way that they are NOT on the same wavelength as I am.

I thought Liberal Arts degrees were 'Bachelor of Arts'   and if you majored in pre-dentistry, you got a Bachelor of Science?     But I'm old, so I googled it and found Harvard has degrees in  "Liberal Arts and Sciences".   I guess "Liberal Sciences is if you're a Dental Technician.  Or a Bed Pan Specialist.   Regardless, in defense of the 13 year old who  DOESN'T want porn (maybe he has a girlfriend)  he should be able to go to a Ford, Apple or Gibson site without seeing it.   Sort of like if he goes to a Coors, Colt or Marlboro site - he is warned off if under 18.  Thanks to the Dept of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.  Maybe we need a Federal Agency regulating guitars !    A Guitar Czar !  More impressive sounding than  'mod'.

Nope B S. I think it just has to do with if I took more science or arts type classes in my useless major. I’ve stated before I’m shallow and only got a college degree to put on my resume. I have no idea if it ever helped me land a job.

I dated a woman who had a Liberal Arts Degree. Maybe elementary school teachers get them. I was just a dumb electrician trained by the US Navy, and then USCG.

I think Forum Police is more accurate. They have the power to arrest and lock you up.

Even though I technically work in environmental science, I have both a BA and MA in my liberal arts field which straddled both sides.  I know for certain they each got me my jobs, even when I wasn’t working in the field while my wife was in grad school.  And they are the reason I can have my own company now, since at least an MA in the field is required to get licensed.  My wife got her Phd.  I would have gotten mine but I ran into a professor who took an issue with me because I naively outed him for some bad behavior to admin, and he proceeded then to sabotage my graduate career.  I figured he’d get his comeuppance and the department would make things right with the students he impacted, but gee I had that wrong. He stayed on to retire, albeit somewhat sidelined, and I was the one booted out the door.  (This was before any whistle-blower laws would have protected me.) I bounced pretty well though.

I was succeeding at being a professional student. Then in my 5th year of college, I was offered a very good job, but I needed any degree in any field. Looking at all the classes I had taken, I only needed one Psych. class to get a B.S. in Psychology. I took it over the summer. Got my degree and got the job. From the onset, they gave me the run-around. They said I would stay close to home, then told me I needed to move to VA. I quit after 3 days. So, I ended up being a conveyor mechanic for 30 years and never used that degree.

A side note: On the day I went to pick up my diploma, I went (diploma in hand) to my uncle's house and I fixed his toilet. That should have been an omen.

I went to night school while in the Army and got an Associates Degree (AA) in General Studies, in 1984.

Continued to take classes, and finally finished up a Bachelors Degree (BS) in Professional Aeronautics, in 1995.

When I moved to northern Alabama back in 2003, I ended up working for a local University (University of Alabama in Huntsville, or UAH), and I got one class per semester tuition-free. So I pursued a Master's (MA) in Psychology.
Sadly, I changed jobs a few times, and never finished that degree.
I enjoyed all the psychology classes that I took though, and felt like I got a lot out of them.

I may go back and finish that Masters someday soon.
I am hearing that Liberty University will admit me via the Post 911 GI Bill, and it's all Distance Learning anyway.
We'll see.

I'm turning 65 this Saturday, so it's not like I need the degree for a job or anything.
It would just be something to stay busy, and to keep going with the 'lifelong learning' thing that just might
help to stave off....  uh.....    the, uh........     senility.

I think most schools will take care of you under the bill, and lots of colleges have online options now, which may make transferring credits simple. In fact check with UAH, they may be able to help you out with the least amount of rigamarole.  just mentioning options,  unless you have a particular affinity for Liberty.

I really don't know that much about them.
A friend I had on the phone (old Army friend who lives in Texas) was doing the Liberty thing, and going for his PhD.

He recommended using them.
I still need to do my homework.
