24” scale. Most people try to string them with modern “normal” strings, 10-46 ish. Too rubbery. 11-49 at a minimum. 12-52 even better. The Es are much less likely to roll and the guitar sounds bigger. Just my take.

That was probably it then.  When my arthritis acted up the fingers got sore fast so I put 9's on all the guitars.  Now I purchased Thomastik Infeld 10-48's and put them on my Casino. I actually love them and plan on ordering some for the other guitars.

I will clarify for anybody who even cares at this point.

I started the thread to vent about my being banned from another guitar web forum.

Things started to turn absurdly ugly and political here, and I ended up deleting my original posting, and the several that followed, accordingly.

So.
Here we are with this mixed bag of nonsense, and I truly hope that this thread lives on in perpetual infamy, like some sort of interstellar probe that was only intended to make it out to Jupiter, but ended up flying right on out toward Andromeda.

Please leave your kindest regards to Uranus.

All I got from that was, Probe Uranus.

I better stop skimming and start really reading and paying attention.

(this thread may be heading south again, lol)

Thanks for the info,  Like I said, I gave that guitar to our granddaughter.  I asked both grandkids, Which guitar do you want? Reagan wanted the Jag and Grayson wanted my red Gretsch.  John wanted my black & white Epiphone Standard so I took all 3 over to their house. That still gave me 6 guitars. Of course I told them my Gibson standard and Casino were off limits till after I die.

That his a first I heard someone say that. I know a lot of guys love them.  Not to get on anyones bad list, I would tend to agree with you, Lol. I had a Jaguar and every time I played it, the E strings kept going over the edge.  I ended up changing the bridge on it which helped and now our Granddaughter has it.

You are certainly not alone. There are a bunch of people like us, I was always pushing E strings into fresh air on Fenders.

Mustang saddles. They make all the difference in the world, IMO. Not that I have a Jag ATM, but I do have a Duo Sonic, Music Master, and Mustang, which are also all 24" scale. And I use 10s on all of them, although I do understand why many players use heavier strings with 24" scale guitars.

I currently own a Squier Vintage Vibe Jazzmaster (Sonic Blue? Daphne Blue?) and I've bought (and then sold) two Squier 70s Vibe Jaguars. All three had  Mustang-esque saddles from the factory. I swapped them out for the vintage grooved barrel original style, not because I preferred them (who in their right mind would?) but because they each have two height adjustment screws per saddle. That way I could dial in the radius to match the board. I could not do that with the Mustang style, which has no height adjustment.... they just had three different sizes that 'kinda' matched the radius.

I loved the Jag, Sundance wouldn't let me play it much. He kept barking at the metal  that shined on the walls & ceiling. He was louder than I and wouldn't shut up. I loved playing my surf songs and using the Tremolo bar.

They make them with allen screws for height adjustment, too. Google Height adjustable Mustang saddles.

No affiliation, and I've never purchased from them so no endorsement or recommendation - just as an illustration of what I mean.

I know it was frustrating, but that is so funny. I can imagine Sundance doing that.
