Important Message to our Fans

It was always our pleasure' date=' our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you - whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs.

While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process. But there was also something else: We want to end the Scorpion’s extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning. This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road. We finish our career with an album we consider to be one of the best we have ever recorded and with a tour that will start in our home country Germany and take us to five different continents over the next few years.

We want you, our fans, to be the first to know about this. Thank you for your never-ending support throughout the years!

We uploaded the very first snippets from our new album for you.

And now… let’s get the party started and get ready for a “Sting in the Tail”!

See you on the world tour,

Yours

While it's sad to hear that they're retiring, they've had a great, long career.

Indeed sad to see their career end. Great that it's on a good note. I grew up on Love Drive, Animal magnetism, In trance... One of the all time great hard rock bands !

On that subject I ran across something the other day surfing Youtube that I just couldn't believe... A good reason to bow out when your at your best.

First at their heyday:

So if the tour goes well, will they decide to come out of retirement like so many other bands have done after their "Farewell Tours"? These begin to sound like marketing gimmicks to jack up the merchandise and ticket sales. Time will tell I guess but this was a smoking band!

It was OK to look at it when you were 16...not so much when you are 40. I believe you might end up in the pokey for looking at the album cover at that age.

Even at sixteen I found it a little distasteful.

Not a bad album, mind you. Just a tasteless cover.

The guys knew it was a bad idea when they put the album out. I'm sure they did.

Saw them live 4-5 years ago and I became an ever greater fan of their work! Amazing band, certainly qualify for the best rock band ever to emerge from the European mainland.

Yes, they are in their 60s and that's a respectful (to the fans) and classy way to go. Sad to see them go however...[confused]

BTW, for those of you who didn't already, take a listen to their latest studio album. DEFINATELY among their best pieces of work since the early 80s. Although I was totally amazed by the stuff they recorded in 70s...
