I want a goddess.

Yes I do, I just saw a purple LP goddess, a band came to record a demo and one of the players had one, it looked so cool (I know it's suposed to be a girl's guitar but it still looked badass in an 80s glam kind of way).

The guitar's tone directly into both the supersonic and the princeton was awesome. What pickups are in it? They also look cool with the color matched wire [lol]

I can't find any on ebay, but I'll get one that's for sure, preferrablyl in blue, if not, purple will do (I don't like red guitars).

Flight, I think you had a goddess, if so, do you still have it? Can you post some porn and talk about her?

Geez Louise. That is a sweet guitar. Are the pickups blue too? They kinda remind me of those 'smokey' pickups that had the clear plastic so you could see the wires wound around the poles. Maybe my eyes just playing tricks on me...[lol]

Blue wire dude!!! [thumbup] also blue "gibson" logo, all of them have matching wire and logo, which I think is a prety awesome feature for a guitar that was really cheap when they were still for sale. (I take it they aren't any longer made, am I right?)

No way! That's freakin' cool. I don't think I've ever seen that.

One of the first indications I had that Gibson's marketing dept. consisted of idiots was the Goddess. Why, oh why did they market this as a 'girl's guitar' (and immediately alienate 90% of the guitar-buying public)?

Had they just marketed it as a 'new guitar model' with a more neutral name I think the Goddess would've been real successful.

Aiming it directly at girls no doubt doomed it to failure.

I seriously thought about buying one but didn't want to have to participate in the obligatory ***-kicking that would've been a result.

Is there something wrong with marketing a guitar for ladies? Seems to me 'you guys' have lots of other guitars to choose from [biggrin] ...... oh, and we play THOSE guitars too.

Exactly... what was Gibson trying to say... that ladies don't have good enough sense or taste to play a Gibson unless it's pink or baby blue? [lol]

Nothing wrong with making guitars for the ladies - they should probably make more of them - but it seems like they would have been smarter just to put it on the market and let the ladies decide whether or not it was a ladies guitar - they clearly would have picked up more sales from guys as well.

Hey Thunder you are in luck... I bet you Tim would get the guitar for you and ship it' date=' price is right too!

I'll ask him, see what can be done, I don't need to have her right now so there would be no problem if he kept her til I go to the states (I'd trust any guitar to Tim before I let her stay for more than a week at my friend's place, not because I don't trust him but because he is not a guitarist and won't know how to take care of her).

First of all, I don't think Gibson markets any particular guitar as a 'guy's guitar' so why market one as a 'girl's guitar'? Most guys don't want to listen to the wisecracks they're gonna get playing a 'girl's guitar'. Men buy 90% of guitars.

Why even bring up the concept of a 'girl's guitar'? Girls and women are smart enoug to figure it out without Gibson's marketing team telling them so. And guys don't want the stigma.

I didn't think I needed to explain.
