G McBride
I been playing this tuning a lot the last couple of days. Do you guys keep a guitar tuned in an alternate tuning?
Silenced Fred
I been playing this tuning a lot the last couple of days. Do you guys keep a guitar tuned in an alternate tuning? Used to keep my Strat in a slide tuning, don't do that too much now though. It was fun
saturn
I don't keep any guitar permanently tunes to an open tuning. But I do tune to Open G occasionally. I love the way it's so easy to go between the 1 and 4 chord. Another good open tuning is E, but it puts so much stress on the neck, I usually tune it to the shape of an E chord, but down 1 or 2 steps to E flat or D. Little Martha is a great song to play in that tuning.
heymisterk
Two of my faves in Open G for acoustic, my primary weapon: "Daughter" is interesting because the low E is tuned to a G instead of a a D...very cool. jimmiJAMM
Usually keep my $hit tuned 1/2 a step down just 'cause it all sounds totally awesome that way, or sometimes in drop D for the same reason.
Bldsnn
I have a strat that's always tuned to open G with the low E tuned to G.
