Used to keep my Strat in a slide tuning, don't do that too much now though. It was fun

I don't keep any guitar permanently tunes to an open tuning. But I do tune to Open G occasionally. I love the way it's so easy to go between the 1 and 4 chord.

 

Another good open tuning is E, but it puts so much stress on the neck, I usually tune it to the shape of an E chord, but down 1 or 2 steps to E flat or D.

 

Little Martha is a great song to play in that tuning.

"Daughter" is interesting because the low E is tuned to a G instead of a a D...very cool.

my lp standard is tuned down to C

Usually keep my $hit tuned 1/2 a step down just 'cause it all sounds totally awesome that way, or sometimes in drop D for the same reason.

I have a strat that's always tuned to open G with the low E tuned to G.

I play a lot of the Soundgarden stuff in opent E tuning, which makes my neighbours pray that the earthquake will not hit their houses ... :)

I keep everything in standard tuning except for my Stratocaster which I tune down half a step.
