teegar
Just doing my evening search of the vintage Epi gear on ebay - a Kalamazoo Casino someone "tried to mount his pedals in" ? I don't even know what that means! Reminds me of another recent thread about cutting up Casinos (better not go there). http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-USA-Epiphone-Casino-w-Gibson-T-Top-Pickups-NR_W0QQitemZ140391588711QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item20affda367

brianh
"Yes, it is heavily modded and it's not really a "collectible" guitar anymore, but it's way cooler now in my opinion because it's a totally playable vintage guitar that you don't really have to worry about scratching or modifying." That's quite an understatement.... Nice shot of the lam though. I feel an extended thread about wood type coming on..

RobinTheHood
Can someone post the paragraphed version with punctuation, non bolded and preferrably in a font other than comic sans?...like maybe verdana or arial. Also...that guitar is jank.
brianh
(My bolding, sorry couldn't resist) Welcome to another great No Reserve guitar auction from GREENGTRS. Press the play button on the video demo so you can hear the guitar being played as you read about it and look at the pictures. I point out all the features and any flaws I can find and anything else I think is pertinent (never any unpleasant surprises here). Sound and feel is everything to me and anything I'm selling has passed my "blind" test...I don't mind dings, dents, and scratches (or any other cosmetic issues) but I will always go out of my way to point them out. I love my "job", am very picky about what I buy, and choose to sell only what I would enjoy playing myself. Here is a great old vintage Epiphone Casino for your consideration. I believe it is a 1968 model but could be a 1965 as the serial number points to either year and I believe they had introduced the longer neck/body joint by 1965. There is nothing like the sound of old wood and most of it is still here but as you can see...this is one "Holy" guitar...it went through some Leslie West inspired modifications in the early 80's...the original owner tried to mount some of his pedals in it. There is also nothing like the sound of a good set of pickups and these are the highly coveted Gibson T-tops that Gibson used between 1965 and the early 1980's...and these do have the "L" tool markings on them that as far as I know, identify these as the earliest versions (the pickups alone are probably worth more than half of my starting price). Oh yeah...let's not forget about the Alligator Claw toggle switch cover...this guitar is just dripping with "vibe". The important thing to note here is that for all the abuse that this guitar has been dealt, the headstock has never been snapped and the neck/body joint is also still intact. Yes, it is heavily modded and it's not really a "collectible" guitar anymore, but it's way cooler now in my opinion because it's a totally playable vintage guitar that you don't really have to worry about scratching or modifying. I bought it from the original owners friend (the next and only other owner), who played it as you see it now and never did anything else to it. It could use some TLC, and there are some things I would do to make it my main stage guitar...like giving it a new fret job and filling the holes in the headstock and then re-drill/re-mount the non-original Grover tuners (maybe even throwing on a set of locking tuners) as it wasn't a very good job...that and get a better bridge, but you will fall in love with it as soon as you pick it up and play it (provided you can make it past the cosmetic abuse)...I know that as soon as I got it into my hands I knew I was going to buy it. Even the missing piece of binding on the treble side of the neck didn't slow me down or change my impression as the neck feels sooooo good and you can barely feel the missing piece anyways (which can be replaced). It's a full Hollow body (essentially a Gibson ES-330...built in the same factory by the same workers) with a great feeling, slim profile (the width at the nut measures 1 9/16"), 22 fret set-in Mahogany neck (with a Rosewood fingerboard) that joins the body at the 19th fret vs. the 16th fret (allowing easy access to the highest frets unlike the earlier versions that Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones and John Lennon of The Beatles made famous). I restrung it with a set of D'Addario XL's (.010 - .046) strings. There is no case with it but I will pack it to arrive safely at your door. That is just one of the many areas that I go above and beyond the normal call of duty...check my feedback comments...I have years of experience and my packaging has been described as bullet-proof. Well if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is probably equal to a book, so I'll shut up now and let the pictures and video demo tell the story...if I forgot to mention anything that you think is important or if you have any questions, ask away! I take pride in the whole selling process...from choosing great guitars to sell, cleaning them up if needed, setting them up to play great, and packing them up great to arrive safely at your door. The video demo was done with the guitar plugged straight into a Fender Super Sonic amp. There are no effects (besides the built in tube gain/distortion...not even Reverb). Any tonal changes are from the guitar controls, playing dynamics, and/or me blocking the speakers by standing in front of the camera (and the built in mic). I also used an Avatar 2x12 extension cab and for what it's worth, all 3 speakers are 12" Hellatone 30's. This is (as usual for me) a no games, no hidden reserve, no wasted time wondering if the reserve will get hit, highest bidder wins a great guitar auction. I simply start it at the lowest price I will accept and take my chances. Check my feedback as it speaks volumes! Thanks for looking and bid to win this great sounding vintage Epiphone guitar! Free Shipping offer is via UPS ground service and is for the Continental U.S. only. Faster services available at an additional charge. sledge57
$1000........ Man I got my junk WAY underpriced Did you see the frets, that poor guitar needs to be put out of it's misery. There's nothing that's not krap on it. I guess on the plus side if you have mice in the house that'd make a nice lil home for them....... And I guess if you always wanted to be "El Kabong" that Casino would fit the bill.

brianh
Sounds awesome! I would take it for $500. Did you notice that the Harley Davidson sticker is covering even more holes? Also the humbuckers required the original P-90 cavities to be widened out. I think for those upgrades it's worth at least $600.
sledge57
Watch the video, he talks about how he "Had to buy it" when he found it. Good damn thing, because I think he's gonna own it for a loooooong time
