NeoConMan
Skunk Ruins 16-Grand Worth of Toys PURCELL, Okla. (AP) - December 15, 2010 Don't blame the Grinch -- it's the skunk's fault. One of the stinky critters has sprayed 16-grand worth of toys collected for needy kids in an Oklahoma town. Peggy Christian coordinates Operation Christmas in Purcell, about 35 miles south of Oklahoma City. She says the skunk got into a shed where the toys are being stored. Christian adds only a few of the gifts are useable. Organizers had planned to give the toys to about 800 kids Friday. Christian says Operation Christmas is scrambling to find replacements. Rocky4
Strangely enough, the smell of dead skunk always reminds me of summer. I love the smell during the cold winter.

animalfarm
Don't Skunks "spray" when they feel THREATENED? Those must have been some "funked-up" toys....

Maybe it was a bunch of battery operated toddler toys that all went off at once. "Cow goes MOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" ...or maybe some Bratz dolls. Those are pretty scary. RobinTheHood
agreed. but maybe they dont have any better place to store them?? That is probably the case, but I think that if I was responsible for $16k worth of donated anything, I might just be inclined to rent a storage unit for a few months. NeoConMan
Charity doesn't work that way. EVERYTHING is done on donations, and on the cheap. Donate a storage unit, then you gotta get volunteers to move it all and haul it. And skunks are like rats - they can get into amazingly tight spaces. If you have lots of them running around (Oklahoma has millions) they turn up all over the place.
