charlie brown
Well, I was a bit surprised, they officially "broke up," as they've been doing side projects, for some time. So, I didn't think there was that need. But, it sounds like it's an amicable break, anyway. Who knows, like other bands, they may get together, in the future, or for some special circumstance. heymisterk
R.E.M. was one of those band that, by all accounts, I should have been crazy about. But for whatever reason, I only like a handful of their songs. The songs that I DO like, though, are absolute masterpieces of modern music. I suddenly am craving an Orange Crush... Daryl M
REM and U2 played Vanderbilt University one evening back in their early days. Venue held about 300 people. I have a feeling they'd draw a little better today.
EVOL!
To be honest, I was surprised that they stayed together as long as they did. They had a string of incredible albums all the way up to when Bill Berry left. I think his leaving was the beginning of a long and drawn out end. That guy wrote a lot of their best music and I get the feeling he was the pop conscience of the group. Maybe they stayed together to honor their recording contract? It was something insanely long; like eight albums.
