indiekiduk Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 No idea how you attach the scratch plate there are no instructions. I'm worried about drilling a hole and damaging the guitar why can't Epiphone just sell it with the scratch plate attached?? [cursing]
damian Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Folks like the option to not install the pickguard......At least they installed the Bigsby for you ....... That's a stunning guitar....Simply stunning................Epi does it again..... [thumbup] .......
DeweyCox Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 That 355 looks WAY better than I thought they would… getting gas…
mgrasso Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Nice looking 355. If you are going to ad the pick guard, I would get a gibson without the screw hole. A tortoise shell would look great. I am hoping to pull the trigger this month on a white one. M
BillyGibson Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 That's beautiful. Great color choice. I believe the pictures show it w/o the pick guard, so it does match what they show on line. Unless you're a heavy handed player, give it a try without th eguard. Looks great that way. Congratulations.
RobinTheHood Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Very nice! I've been gassing for a semi-hollow. These new Epis are not helping!
bonzoboy Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 She's a beauty for sure,if you could get a white pickguard with gold edging that would really set her off.
charlie brown Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Might want to ammend your topic header, to ES-355 (instead of 345) since the 355 is what you're showing. Looks like a really nice guitar, all the same! CB
Supersonic Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Looks fantastic. HNGD. Yeah, I wish they came with the pickguard on too. I'm sure someone on here can help you along with drilling the holes without screwing it up. I'd be nervous too. Is the warranty voided after you attach the pickguard? That'd be kinda weird since it comes with the guitar. What does the pickguard look like? Can you post a pic of it?
indiekiduk Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 here is the scratch plate: dude at guitar centre said they could drill the holes but wasn't sure how much they would charge.
Supersonic Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Interesting, that's the stock pic they have shown for the ES-345. The one for the ES-355 is supposed to be "imitation Tortoise"?? Anyway, I'd go ahead and have it professionally installed if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. You won't have to worry about screwing it up and I mean, how much can they charge to drill two holes right?
ArgonautIOI Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Beautiful Guitar...Definitely getting GAS...... ArGo
jcwillow777 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Man that is a beauty, and a great color choice! I don't know, but I think I might leave the PG off, or a B/W/B/W/B. Either way, that is a gorgeous guitar.
Telechamp Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 No idea how you attach the scratch plate there are no instructions. I'm worried about drilling a hole and damaging the guitar why can't Epiphone just sell it with the scratch plate attached?? [cursing] I say leave it off. A lot of guys remove their guard, but then they have the screw hole. This way you won't have to worry about that..
jfine Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Did it come with the mounting bracket? Screws? The rubber grommet for the neck-end of the scratchplate? (We call them "pickguards" here in the US.) You'll need all of that for a proper installation, and if it were me, I'd have it professionally done. It is supposed to be a bound tortoise guard for a 355, but Epiphone may not be doing it that way. 345's had black guards, so they might be using the same guard for both models. They still should have included the mounting hardware, though.
charlie brown Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Also, out of curiosity, is the mounting bracket, a flat "Les Paul" type, or the "real" ES (barrel) type? CB
Supersonic Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Can you just post a pic of the pickgaurd/scratch plate that came with your guitar??? PLEASE??!!
