Even though, it's a chambered guitar with f-holes - not a real hollow-body -, the rest of the specs makes me think this going to be winner again for Gibson. What do You think? Cheers... pippy Posted September 26, 2013 Share Posted September 26, 2013 My first reaction was "OOOOHHH......................YEESSSS!!!!! The only aspect about it which raises a question mark is the neck. It goes with the traditional Byrdland shorter 23.5" scale yet, oddly enough (to me!), it has a fingerboard which goes from being fractionally wider than an a LP at the nut to almost 0.3" wider at the 22nd fret. I've played a fellow forumite's 1961 Byrdland and liked it, however (and I thought the neck on that example was narrower than my LPs), so I don't suppose I would let those anomalies put me off. And yes, Bence; as V says the specification page reads : "Body Type - Hollow body". I notice the guitar will not become available until Nov 5th. Perhaps it's time to let a Lester go........ P. I was misleaded by the cavity covers which don't exist on (semi)-hollows - as far as I know. I thought, it's just like the rest of the Midtowns. Excuse me! ...I am very afraid the Tele has to go. Thanks to Gretsch and Beatles' use of Casinos etc, people are reminded of the subtleties of tones available They are more challenging to play than typical solids and require a higher level of construction So like for like will be more expensive to buy But have a more crafted feel engendering perhaps a longer term ownership ethos... V well the short scale is a bit of an eye opener, you're not going to be doing a lot in those upper registers! No body size quote for some reason :unsure: The gold fittings are an irritation...and that ES 165 tailpiece is somewhat busy... The coil split and RW/RP wiring show real flair and usability...
