  1. I have the D'addario gel pack things in my cases. No mess. When they get hard get new ones. The one in my case at my other house has been in there for a few months (as we are not there but once a month or so) and it takes the hassle of changing water or worrying about overhydrating.
  2. I understand. At one point I owned 13 guitars and said to myself, there is no point in having guitars I don't play, so I started dumping them. But that is just me. I finally got down to a super-mega nice guitar, a 12er, one that I will take anywhere, and one at my other house that I leave there so I don't have to ever hump one there. One day in the near future when we move to the other house full time all my guitars will stay there. I would love to have every guitar on the planet I want, but I'm not Joe Bonamassa who has the funds to guy 1960 vintage Les Paul's ect.
  3. I have only played one J-200 in Gruhn's for a minute or two, but for you guys that have them, does that much pickguard affect the way the top vibrates?
  4. I though all guitars are meant to be played. Mine are in cases right now with hydration going on do to it being winter and the heat is on in the house and the humidity is lower. But when I get home, just like in the Warriors movie, they come out to play ay.
  5. I know they ripped the vocals off Fly From Here and called it Fly From Here Return Trip and Trevor sang (I think he was the producer too), and is kind of a Drama reunion, but it was just the same bad album with a different but Yes alumni singer. After Drama I checked out. Tormato had a few good songs like Silent Wings Of Freedom, Future Times/Rejoice, and Don't Kill The Whale. Onward and Madrigal are just awful. UFO and Circus Of Heaven are okay. Going For The One back to The Yes Album was top shelf. Oceans did not need to be 4 songs each on a side. To much filler. There is good stuff there, but like I said digesting 4 - 20 minute songs is tough. Great album cover.
  6. I would have left it there. That is terrible.
  7. I saw Paul a few years back where the UVA Cavaliers play basketball in Charlottesville, VA. I saw The Dead 13 times and Jerry solo once at the Warfield. Mostly in the Bay Area. Once in Irvine, once in Monterey, once in Sacto, and once in Chicago when I was a squid. The rest were Oakland or SF.
  8. I have all their stuff either on album, cd or digital. I have listened to Presto, Counterparts, Test For Echo, Vapor Trails and Clockwork Angels maybe 3 times total. Snakes And Arrows was not to bad. Signals and then Grace was when I know they were gonna start putting out garbage. And then Power Widows came. Big Money goes around the world. Really Neil that was the best you got. And then Hold Your Fire. I loath and they play it every time - Time Stand Still. That song is cheese d!ck it makes me sick. I used to go concerts at every venue in The Bay Area. Saw so many good shows there. Zappa, The Stones, The Who, The Dead, Rush, the list goes on and on.
  9. I saw The Moody Blues, The Grateful Dead (not that sad schtick they have been tooling around the past few years, with Jerry), believe it or not Madonna, Billy Idol, The Doobie Bros, and many others I can't remember right now at Shoreline. The keyboard era makes me vomit. Um Geddy your a bass player.
  10. Crazy Glue that sucker down. No don't do that. Take it to a pro and get it sorted.
  11. I walked past the Iridium and drove past the Dakota. I know JL lived there, but its just an apartment building. Not to interesting.
  12. I play mine. Polish yes,, and I use bore oil on the fretboards, but they get played cause there instruments that are made to make sounds. The sounds that come out of mine are not like Page's or Howe's or Thompson's , but sound comes out.
  13. Don was born in '37 and, Phil in '39 according to wiki.
  14. So let me get this straight. You contacted Gibson and they are not sure about a guitar they supposedly made and want pics and the serial number. Did you give them the SN the first time you contacted or e-mailed them. Wow what a pro company they are.
  15. I just looked at a few pics online that say they are custom shop models. I clearly see the dot over the i. Why would Gibson purposely make a mistake on their logo? Is your the MOP or the silk screened one?
  16. NYC is a blast. Been there a few times. Saw a play once, The Nat, History Museum , The MOMO and went to The Birdland Jazz Club, ate Pizza, bagels. I didn't get the full NYC experience cause I didn't get mugged or ride the subway. If I rode the subway I could have killed 2 birds with one stone. But it was fun as sh!t.
  17. Yes. June 6th I saw them. The Canadian band FM opened for them. I have Black Noise and City Of Fear on vinyl and a few others digitally. I used to live in San Hole (Jose). I have pics of the show. That one I think was during the encore. Best Rush show I went to. Looking forward to PW 40th and the extra stuff. I have the 2112, Kings and Sphere's 40th albums on CD. If they do Pictures I'll get it and Signals (they bypassed the Bay Area on that tour) maybe. Grace Under Pressure (saw them on that tour too) has some good stuff on it, but after that I didn't like the direction Rush went. Power Windows was just awful, but I did see them live on that tour. After Hold Your Fire (saw them live on that tour too in San Diego, I was in the Navy at the time) I didn't listen to them for several years till maybe Snakes And Arrows. I remember them playing the whole album but not Witch Hunt. They did play all of Pictures on the Time Machine tour just after the mid set break. Saw them in DC for that one. Saw the 40th Ann. Tour in Virginia (where I live now), The Clockwork Angels Tour in Virginia, and the Last Tour 50th Ann in Greenville, SC. I think if I count correct that's 8 total times.
  18. Its either a NGD or it isn't. There's no in-between. It could be shipped but still...
  19. I had to use 2 towels. She is how they say - bangin'.
  20. Howe, Downes and White are not original members. I know you know that. I know members will come and go, but to me Yes are terrible now. I don't want to listen to a Jon Anderson clone. Loved the Drama line up and wished they made a few more albums. Just like when Moraz was in the band. Relayer was killer. But the 80's comeback was really sad. (IMHO). I went to see them cause it was Yes. Now I'm scared forever. Big Generator - Moving to the left. Oh lord just kill me. That was the best you guy got. I saw Kansas when Steve Morse was in the band at an amusement park. I went due to I liked Kansans and Steve was in the band and I love The Dixie Dregs and saw then once and Steve solo a few times. When you play and amusement park, note to the band your career is over. I am a recovering music snob and have high standards. Listen to Close To The Edge or Fly From Here? What to do - what to do? I'll take Close The Edge all day long.
  21. Parts are available all over the internet. Finding one that matches exactly the one that is not getting replaced maybe easy or not. Replace both and they'll be the same.
  22. Remember right now Yes is a band with 0 original members. Drama was it for me. I did see them on 901245664 and Big Generator and Talk. It was ok, but not the Yes I love. Listening to Close To The Edge is damn near a religious experience for me.
  23. Waverly's are supposed to be the bomb, but I think they are only for acoustic's and banjo's and uke's.
  24. One thing you will never hear at the dollar store. Can I get a price check on ______________ ?
