  1. A million years from now, far, far away, in an unknown part of the universe, someone will be staring up at the stars and won’t even know that we existed.
  2. You know you’re getting old when family and friends treasure you. Of course, they might treasure you because it’s hard to find fossils.
  3. A classic beauty with a great voice. Also, a great person. As a young man, Olivia, Rondstadt, and Mary Travers kept me awake at night.
  4. No more high school reunions for me! I’m sick of all these old people coming-up and asking, “Do you remember me?”
  5. What was really cool was when this really good looking young woman told me I reminded her of her grandfather.😭
  6. Serious question! What are pickup rings and are they only on electrics?
  7. You know you’re getting old when a 60-year-old woman addresses you as “Sir.”
  8. Kind of reminds me of some of the crop circles we see around the world. Or, the women’s body fluid suggestion is also interesting. Or, someone somewhere along the lifeline of this guitar was was being ornery and wantied to create a situation where people like us are doing what we’re doing…….If it’s just a sticker, I’d just remove it. If it’s really stuck on there, just leave it. You know it’s a Gibson Bird, so it’s a sweet guitar.
  9. Great pic! Very accurate………Our dogs calm down and nap when I’m playing. I can put people to sleep too. I think cats and dogs thrive being close to us and the music makes them feel secure.
  10. I’d laugh! Sorry you wouldn’t. Adios and take care.
  11. Yeah, Coumadin is a derivative of Dicoumarol (spelling?) which was used as a major rat control poison for many years. However, doctors found that by itself, Coumadin was an excellent anti-coagulant for human blood. My dad died at 96 ( a month short of 97) and he was on Coumadin for over 30 years. It can be a life-saver.
  12. I confess, young man, you’re likely right. I ain’t real bright and there’s lots things that have made me look stupid….After all, I’ve been around since Lee retreated from Gettysburg…..And thank you for reiterating that I don’t have to play music I don’t care for…..and I don’t care if it don’t hurt me to play other music…I just don’t care to play it……BTW, I’m very relieved to hear that you are just “testy.” And beyond all the bull crap——" I wish you and your family the very best in life. Please don’t be “testy” with them. It just ain’t worth it and family is all we’ve got………….…I bet if we ever meet face-to-face that we’ll laugh our asses off about this.
  13. Yo momma’s teeth are so bad! When she smiled at me I didn’t know if I should smile back or kick a field goal.
  14. Relax. Calm down. This is not worth being all worked-up over. Family is, but not this. Also, I don’t say “not my cup of tea.” I just typically use street vernacular and say I don’t like it or something similar. Has nothing to do with the talent of those doing what I don’t like. ……..Also, hurts to stretch my legs, because I’m an old guy who has been sitting here playing the music I like since Lee retreated from Gettysburg and besides, I can’t fathom why you are so upset. ……I watched the video you provided and this guy is a superb guitar player. He’s almost like Roy Clark, Glen Campbell, or Chet Atkins. Wish I was as talented as he is, but I’m not and I just don’t care about playing what he excels at. I’m lucky enough to play what I play. Beyond that , I’m not here to get in a pissing contest with anyone and if that’s what you’re after, you win, because I don’t care. Life is too short for crap like this and that’s what this is.
  15. I believe I said they were very talented. I have no idea what they were playing, If you’re looking for something behind that comment, keep looking and let me know if you find it. I’m just saying it’s not something I enjoy listening to. That doesn’t make me right and someone else wrong. All it means is that if I had their talent I’d still be playing the same kind of music I’ve been playing since Lee retreated from Gettysburg.
  16. Not implying anything. I said I’ve been playing the same kind of music for many years and even if I had their talent I’d still play the music I play. Have no idea what you are implying.
  17. Each of them is very talented, but in all sincerity, I don’t know what I was listening to. I suspect if I had that kind of talent I’d still play the kind of music I’ve been playing since Lee retreated from Gettysburg.
  18. I’m only charging $20 per ticket at my coffeehouse gig and the only problem is crowd control.
  19. Life is short! Buy the guitar! Play the hell out of it and if you don’t like it, sell it and start looking again. Most of us have more guitars than we actually need, but as we all know, “guitars are like women: you can’t have too many.”
  20. Thanks, kid! I’m considering one. Reverb and delay for me also. The slight boost in sound would help at library gigs too. I think I’d enjoy it simply noodlin’ around.
  21. Thanks, buddy! Didn’t see it earlier.
  22. Stop picking-on guitars with neck problems. I once owned a guitar that had what many of you would say was a problem. After a couple years, the neck had bowed into a “U.” The cool thing was that I could then use it as a harp.
