  1. Is it for sale? Lars are you buying that?
  2. So I wonder if there going to put Norlin era Guitars in there vault. Martin was consistent in preserving history. So what make Gibson think they can? Gibson couldnt keep the serial number data consistent especially now with the the thousand differences on one model. .
  3. Those actually sound pretty good. Ive owned a couple of those.
  4. You know those have a big square volume tone panel on the side. There also a tad thinner than your traditional Dove or Jumbo acoustic.
  5. I missed the sold part. Sorry. Ill keep looking
  6. There is one on Reverb in Texas. Much closer
  7. I would prefer myself a fixed saddle New Hummingbird over a adjustable ,skinny neck any day. Gibson Bozeman is building some Nice sounding Guitars. alot of the Old stuff is overpriced, and over rated . but thats my take .
  8. Those were out some time ago. There is one on Reverb.com They came in burst and Natural finishes.
  9. L1s are Nice guitars. It all comes down to if you like it.
  10. Looks good. RD stamped or written?
  11. Nice looking Dove. Not sure why Gibson skimps on parts. The most vital parts to get the best tone. But with Gibson cutting corners on wood, parts, not taping the inside rims to stabilize the sides. Just a bad way to build a good business relation with the customer.
  12. Yes. L50. L48 in 1947 was the only year for trapazoid markers. No bound fingerboard on a L48
  13. L50. Bound board , white bordered pick guard. I am pretty sure these are pressed solid tops The easy way to tell is look at the edge of the f holes I have both L48 and L50 with the trapazoid inlays. The L48 was only in 1947 with a script logo
  14. I have a oil filled radiator style heater. 110v Set at what ever degree of temp you need. It will keep it warm. Its on wheels so it can be moved around if needed. its a good item to have.
  15. If you wait for a couple of months. Gibson will see this post . And make it a part of there line up in Guitars. btw the truss rod cover is a replaceable item.
  16. Reverb.com is your best bet on value. Keep in mind condition is everything. Cracks, breaks. Are a factor as well.
  17. I own a 52 J50 with the small guard , straight through saddle. I like it alot. congrats on yours.
  18. The electric pen mark is not original. Mine didnt have electric. Just hummingbird
  19. Thats what I thought it could be. Weird years for guitar models.
  20. I owned one just like yours. 4 digit serial number as well. A old friend bought it from me. Its still in his collection. A factory p90 guitar. I have a J50e from 56.
  21. Hyde glue. Acoustics. ( neck and bridge). electric. ( neck). just about every guitar is glued that way. Problem is. Most like Martin ,Gibson and what other builders. Seem to stretch the stuff out to maximize the product. There fore not enough on the guitars to keep them together
  22. He was a good , talented Entertainer/Artist. Glad to have Mr Tyson here in Longview in Southern Alberta. may he RIP.
