  1. They will most likely unburden themselves of Debt & Parts of their Business model that have not been profitable. More than likely replace their CEO & Re-Structure..... Sound familiar? It should.......
  2. You can use a Vibramate & install a Bigsby without cutting any holes or damaging any part of the Guitar... It's completely reversible & leaves no marks that would show it was ever there..... I have one on my Gibson ES Les Paul Memphis Blacktop.. Looks great & works perfect.. Bigsbys are an & important Effect to have on your Guitar.. I won't buy any more Electric Guitars without a Bigsby or a Tremelo...
  3. I forget to say Congrats! That is a sweet looking 335! Hope it's perfect & sounds great!
  4. I have had Guitars replaced by Gibson under their Lifetime Warranty.. They have been excellent in my experience.. Also, my experience with Martin is equally as good.. I sent them my 35 year old Martin D35 for Warranty Work.. I bought it new in 1975. That Guitar had been rode hard playing Coast to Coast for all those years.. In my situation the Guitar was repairable.. They literally rebuilt my Guitar! At no cost... I did have them do a re-fret & add Fishman Electronics which I paid for.. The Guitar came back like new & still looks, sounds & plays better than any Acoustic I've ever played...
  5. My Black 2005 Corvette Coupe has 23,000 miles on it & thought I'd sell it & get a 2020. I've had a 2020 on Order since January.. I'm getting anxious... Especially after seeing that they're finally starting to arrive!!! Where's mine? I'm happy for you. Congrats! I know you'll enjoy that Super Car!
  6. Pickups arguably are subjective.... What one person thinks is the best another person will disagree... Excatly what Pickups are in yours? Are they adjusted correctly? That said, I believe most would agree the best sounding HB's were the original '59 Gibson PAF's.. Where do you get them? You can't.. Unless you find a magic Set on Reverb or somewhere like that. Then you'll pay crazy money for them.. Everybody & their brother claims to have magically recreated them.. All claim theirs are the best.. I've yet to hear any of them sound as good as my original 1959 ES345 with PAF's... My Gibson MHS HB's sound really good. I also like my 490R & 498T.. I also have 57's in my current ES335 & they would be my 3rd choice... Thro Baks, Fralin, Duncan & Lollar make great alternatives as well. It's a Rabbit Hole..... Proceed with Caution... If it's a new Guitar you bought & don't like maybe you should return it for one you do like...
  7. I have had excellent experience with Sweetwater also.. I've bought about 10 Guitars from them Gibson, Gretsch, Fender, Rickenbacker & Epiphone. I've had 3 defect issues with Gibsons over the years. Only 1 was bought at Sweetwater. 2 were bought from MF or another Online Dealer... I resolved all of them by dealing directly with Gibson Customer Service.. Via Telephone to set up a Warranty Repair. Not Email which is a waste of time... All 3 Guitars issues were repaired to perfection or replaced with a new one that was perfect..
  8. I only consider Mint or Excellent on the Guitars I've bought from Reverb as recommended by friends who buy a lot of Gear.. So far no problems.. You can Message the Sellers with questions. So far they've all been courteous..
  9. Most online Retailers have 30-45 no hassle Return Policies... Plenty of time to try them out... I've bought several new Guitars that way.. The past few years it's become very hard to find great inventories of high end Guitars at Music Stores... Unless you're in places like L.A. or New York City.... I've had good luck buying a few Used Guitars on Reverb.. But, I only consider Mint or Excellent... If Sellers misrepresent Reverb sides with the Buyer... They can return for full Refund.. Although Shipping Cost may be extra... I haven't had to Return one....
  10. I own a recent 2014 Gibson Memphis ES 335 which is a great Guitar. I've owned an ES345 which was even better.. I've played several 355's which would be my choice.. Everything the 335 & 345 is & more.. Including Fit, Finish, Detail, beautiful Bling, top of the line Pickups, Electronics & all the other features.. I plan to upgrade my 335 for a 355 with Bigsby.. For me that's pretty much the ultimate Guitar....
  11. There are lots of Firebirds out there without cracked Necks you can buy.. Why would you even consider this?
  12. An ES335 is a Brougham... An ES345 is a D' Elegance.. An ES355 is a Biarritz.. All are outstanding Guitars..
  13. That would be a pass for me.... Mine has Steinberger's which are amazingly accurate Tuners... I've had mine for about 5-6 years with no Neck issues..
  14. I've owned many HB& P90 Gibsons & Epiphones over the years. I still have several. My first was a mid 1950's Les Paul Jr with P90 which was a great sounding Guitar.. Later I got a 1959 ES345 with PAF's.. Amazing Guitar! I own LP's with P90's & several different versions of HB's. I own a Gibson ES335 with 57's & 3 Casinos with P90's. I love the sound of Humbuckers & P90's... Equally.. Both types of Pickups are Great! I feel bad for those who miss out on great Guitars with either type of Pickup....
  15. Who keeps resurrecting these ancient Threads? Aren't there enough people here posting new Threads?
  16. I agree 100% It doesn't take much for the thin layer of Gold Plating to come off.. Cleaning lightly with non abrasive is strongly advised... The same is true with the rest of ypur Guitar. Unless you're trying to remove Scratches or imperfections why use any abrasive?
  17. Ok.. You save $1,000,000.00 over the course of all the years you worked your A$$ off... You want to retire & live Securely off the % Interest, not spend the Principal & avoid the risk of the Stock Market at this Stage of your life? Right? Wrong! What's 0.015% of $1,000,000.00?
  18. It's hard to believe how fast the time has past... Never forget..
  19. Not to be confused with Inspired by Gibson USA Models......
  20. Check The Tube Store.... Choices from good Budget Tubes to Best VOS High End Tubes...
  21. I bought a new Vintage Sunburst Gibson ES335 in 2014.. The Guitar was flawless.. It plays & sounds beautiful... I have several other Gibsons & all are works of Art... I have also owned many Epiphones. Including a Natural Dot.. It was a beauty too.. It was a Pro model & sounded great! I've been very happy with Epiphone & Gibson..
  22. Many budget priced Guitars seem to be well built & can be good Platforms to build on.. Especially if you know exactly what you want..
  23. There are some that are well put together & are finished quite good... At least they appear to be.. But, the Electronics, Pots, Jack, Switches Tuners, Bridge, Nut could be a lot better quality... But hard at that Price.. The biggest Nit I have though, is the Asian Pickups.. Again, these are Price point Guitars.. All the above Dan be Modded to in,prove the quality & Sound.. But, is it worth spending all the Money to do it? IMO it's not. Usually, a lightly Used comparable USA model can be found for a little more money but you'll have a great Guitar that's about as good as it gets..
  24. I like both! I own some of each.. Probably the best Guitars there are...
  25. If you pay for what is advertised as the best there is you are right to expect nothing less.. For those who defend Flaws & Imperfections in Expensive New Guitars, where are you coming from? Have you looked at a new Heritage? They're flawless, sound & play beautifully.. As do Gretsch Pro Series, Deusenberg & many other Pro Maker Guitars. Nothing less should be exceptible from Gibson as well.. In my experience I know Gibson wants us to have perfect Guitars.. They go the extra mile to see that we do.. They stand behind their Guitars & will make them perfect or replace them.. But, you gotta Call Customer Service & file a Warranty Claim... In my experience Gibson has been Great resolving Issues I've had on 2 of my Guitars...
