If you’re a young, good looking, super talented, a highly motivated self starter, outstanding Singer, Dancer, ultra Tech savvy, total extrovert, with fantastic charisma, charm, personality it would still be tough to make Money in the Music Industry today. My advice if you want to make Money don’t become a Musician.. If you’ve already got Money, by all means, become a Musician..

My first really good sounding Electric Guitar was a naturally highly relic’d 50’s Gibson Les Paul Jr. with a P90. I think I paid $67.00 for it in Pawn Shop in Wash. D.C. I wish I still had it as it sounded & played fantastic… I wonder what it would be worth today? The Sr. just doesn’t look right to me… Like you forgot to put your Pants on or something.. I’m already good with Les Pauls.. Some with HB’s & a LP Special with P90’s.. The latter I’m playing all the time now.. Love both HB’s & P90 Pickups..

I am grateful for my Freedoms & proudly Celebrate July 4th. Have a great one! I live in Palm Springs, Ca. July 4th here is 100+ degrees! We usually go to the Beach… I’d say Winter would be a great time but all the Country Clubs have Fireworks Shows for their Welcome Back Seasons for their wealthy multi Home Members!

I can’t stand those guys who blab about nothing & go on & on.. They make 15 minute YouTubes that could have been done in 2-3 minutes.. If they don’t get to it in the first 15-20 seconds….. Click! Next! There’s a guy on another Forum who just bid & bought a 50 Guitar Bundle..

Is that a Floor model & people come in & play it? I think a lot of guys go to Stores, try out new Guitars, then purchase that same model new Guitar, untouched in the box, at bigger discounts online…… Not saying it’s good or bad, right or wrong.. Just saying..

Bobby D was my idol when I was a kid.. After hearing Dream Lover, Splish Splash, Mack The Knife & Beyond The Sea I wrote him a letter when I was about 10.. I asked him how I could become a Singer.. He wrote me back saying, take Lessons & Sing.. Work hard & don’t give up… The rest of the letter was very cordial.. He seemed like a really great Guy.. Before my Mom passed away she gave me some of her treasured momentos… His letter was included… I had completely forgotten about that letter.. I still have it.. “Beyond The Sea” is a masterpiece! Jazz Pop Swing whatever, it’s a Song that never ages.. Good job!

I use 10’s on most of my Gibsons because that’s what came with them… Simple as that.. I use 9’s on my Tele’s because that’s what they came with.. Work great! I’m passed 12’s & 13’s. I use Martin Retro Custom Light 11’s on my Gibson & Martin Acoustics.. Most Acoustic Strings sound good playing unplugged but sound dull plugged in. The Martin Retro Monels sound great Electric or Acoustic. To the OP, Changing from 10’s to 9’s on your Guitar might not require anything. If it does it should a very minor Intonation and or minor Truss Rod adjustment.. But, I doubt it….

Did the Goldtop have P90’s? Sweetwater can’t keep them in Stock! I was interested but gone! It weighed 9.5 lbs.. Not sure I want another anchor though… Wish Gibson would reissue the Goldtop ES Les Paul with P90’s & Bigsby.. I’m in!

There are plenty of Songwriters writing sad, depressing, negative, out of love, gothic horror, satanic, political, etc Songs… I try not to write those types of Songs..

Whatever.. It’s a Forum about Fenders called the Fender Forum. It covers all things Fender & I haven’t see any Threads about banning..

The Fender Forum appears to be alive & well.. Just went there… Interestingly enough they have a Gibson Section.. That ”banned” isn’t the only mention of banned on this forum…. I’m just saying I don’t see this even come up on most other forums..

I bought a Half Gallon of Ice Cream at Trader Joe’s the other day.. Got home & when I put it in the Freezer I was surprised to see how huge it looked next to a regular Dreyers Ice Cream! Could they start shrinking Guitars & Amps too? Or have they?

An ES335 is really hard to beat! The 1959 thru early 60’s with original PAF Humbuckers are the best sounding, most desirable & most expensive.. $Five figures & higher… From that point on Gibson has made numerous Humbuckers for the ES335’s.. Their Sound quality becomes subjective.. For the most part Gibson has attempted to reproduce the Original PAF Sound.. I’ve yet to hear any that sound as good as my vintage 1959 did… That said, some of the ES335’s sound really good.. From the late 90’s on Gibson has been building really good 335’s.. IMO.. And are more reasonably priced… You really need to play as many as possible to hear which Pickups you like the best… IMO, the Pickups used in the past 25 years, or more, Sound varies dramatically… To my ears the recent MHS Humbuckers sound close to the best original PAF’s.. 57 Classics sound good too.. But, those are my opinions.. Good luck in your quest..

All my Acoustics are also Electric. Half of the time I use my Boss Tuner foot pedal on my board as I’m usually playing Electric Guitars as well. But it would still be nice to have a high quality clip on Tuner that is also as good looking as the Guitar it’s clipped on to.. It would be great to see some Pics of what you all are using..

I use a Snark but take it off as soon as I tune.. Clip on Tuners look cheap & are Ugly. They do nothing for the look of a beautiful Work of Art Guitar! I wish one would come along that’s high quality & Literally invisible. I wish more Guitars had built in Tuners.. Not just Acoustics… Electrics too… I don’t get why they don’t? I’ll gladly pay a little more.. (I’m not referring to Robos either)… LOL..

Read the 1st amendment(those able to) carefully, and you'll notice the wording... First Amendment Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Looks to me like it reads that CONGRESS shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech. Says NOTHING about disallowing anybody else from doing so. People have been misreading and misinterpreting the first amendment to suit their own purpose just as others have been doing the same with the second amendment. Whitefang
