  1. Month or so ago I bought a Harley Benton TE-70 Black Paisley tele for €169/$183 because I`ve never played one. Unboxed, quick look, stuck it in a corner. Last week gave it a setup and brought it to the jam. I rotate my guitars twice a week every week, no one passes comment, they`re used to it. Not only was I told how great the guitar looked but that I`d played great. Eh?
  2. Probably a warning shot, less "Tele" talk 😄.
  3. Was beginning to wonder.
  4. My no1 is my LP but because of RCT I now have three teles.
  5. Different headstock and more subtle wings maybe but no, don`t like.
  6. Prayers to you and the family Tman.
  7. Ah here! For jaysus sake! If only I had started young. Not in my lane but fair play to her, great ability.
  8. So, I acquired a mex Tele, one of my co-players got a Squire Strat. Tonight we went to the usual jam and played. He normally plays his "Paul" and I either the LP, SG, PRS or Junior. The amount of twiddling of volume and tone levels while switching between pickups was a good lesson for us (good laughs too, in order to serve the song) as we play a wide variety of songs. Some find the "one" and stick with that but I like the idea being able to switch between different guitars.
  9. Friday: had the usual jam in the the pub. Saturday: played old Irish songs with a friend on acoustic. Today: drank beer while talking about playing music.
  10. Some trivia I came across today: The best-known use of the Rhodes fuzz was in the Ventures’ 1962 hit The 2000 Pound Bee. This single is generally accepted as the first recorded use of fuzz in a rock ’n’ roll song. I don’t know about you, but I find it deliciously ironic that country music popularized fuzz first, not rock ’n’ roll. Nokie Edwards played guitar on the track and also used the Rhodes fuzz on albums like Walk Don’t Run (1964) and Live in Japan (1965). 12. Merry Christmas to all, thank you for being who you are. I value the advice and banter givin` on here. If not for it, sure I wouldn`t be a proper Gibson player.
  13. That looks well. I`ve never played one but sure would like to try, well wear.
  14. I rotate six, different one every week at local jam but the LP is one that is gigged and my go to.
  15. @Whitefang , yep, same as, looks weird to me.
  16. I have mine at waist height, middle of guitar is at my belt. A guy I play with is a huge Beatles fan, it is so high that he places his ear on the side of the guitar(acoustic) as he is playing.
  17. Just play the damn thing. If you play it enough the finish will change anyways. Danish Pete needs a kick in the hole.
