nick_s
Absolutely no idea what I've done to it but it hurts like hell, like a sprain but with no swelling.
vangoghsear
I get these feelings like something is going to happen to me like that and I will have to give up guitar for a time, and just those ungrounded thoughts depress me. I hope your hand heals quickly. That sucks.

jdgm
Looks painful. And serious. Doctor involved yet? Paracetamol? Tendonitis and guitar related or what?
Kaiser Bill
Saddens me to see this. I hope it gets resolved for the better very soon. I'll keep a good thought.

Tman
Happened to a friend and turned out to be gout. Was a real bummer for him. Got better though.
Kenny V
I hope it's not serious. You should go see your doctor. If you have to stop playing a while you can always study theory. Kenny V
nick_s
Thanks chaps :) I've been taking anti-inflammatories for now, docs booked for Tuesday. I don't suspect it's related to guitar playing but you never know. I have suffered carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand as a result of my job but that eased as a result of a support. I've got my eye on learning some jazz so the theory learning is a good idea

milod
At least you're not in the situation of some competition roper friends who managed to lose a thumb or a finger or two taking dallies after making a catch. Mousing actually hits both sides of my hand/wrist. That's kinda funny because when I was doing some stuff that coulda destroyed a lotta stuff in the hands, I never had a serious injury. Now just sitting at a desk worshiping "the glass god" of a computer screen, the wrist hurts. But "back then," I did intentionally study and figure out ways to play if I lost use of all or more of my hands, but assuming I'd keep both arms. m

Cougar
Absolutely no idea what I've done to it but it hurts like hell, like a sprain but with no swelling. Repetitive motion injury? Left hand/thumb is used all the time. Gets a lot of torque.

capmaster
My recommendation is using an ointment containing common comfrey (Symphytum officinale) like Merck Kytta. It's as effective as synthetic active ingredients and has no unwanted side effects.
