american cheez
first thing i would do is change the marketing strategy. there would be lots of tv and internet commercials for gibson guitars. all of the people in those ads would be porn stars. next, i would adopt realistic pricing. then i would change the guitars. no more no more true historic this and re issue that custom shop, etc. there would be 5 electric models to choose from: the les paul flying vee expolrer sg 335 each would come in only 5 finishes: hcsb, black, red, natural, blue. only the 335 and the les paul would be nitro. the others would get poly finished no more artist or signature series guitars. the explorer, vee and les paul would all be available with s.s. frets each and every guitar would come with locking tuners, the zero nut, the all access heel, and the ability to choose your pickups at the time of purchase. every guitar would be wireless, and you'd purchase the receiver separately. no more cords. fortyearspickn
First thing that struck me was the diversity in the suggestions. Some opposites of each other - great 'inclusion' factor! Virtually every idea could be argued either way. Many have already been - on this and other GForums. MercifulEvans summed it up best I think. Time to go suggest to my wife what I should make for breakfast.

Retired
If I owned Gibson I'd have a stripper pole in my office. And I would have more then One Gibson in my home too, I would promise that! Ha Ha. First one would be the older BB King Lucille with Ebony fret board!
MichaelT
If I owned Gibson I'd have a stripper pole in my office. It's not often that I really laugh out loud at something posted on the internet. I did laugh at this one though. Thanks!
D-28
Not make over 100 LP models for starters. Make guitars regular folks who wear an occasional python boot can afford not just the Rockafellers.
Ceptorman
Marshall and Gibson would be a natural pairing, wouldn't it? Buy a new Les Paul and get an X% OFF coupon towards the Marshall of your choice. It looks like all of the guitar companies are in the same boat with the massive model line-ups. That has to be a nightmare for both the manufacturers and the retailers; how can a mom and pop shop be expected to stock them, let alone be competitive with the giant chains? If you're a relative newcomer to the wonderful world of guitars it has to be incredibly confusing, too. As Ian Saint Ian would say...."if you're not playing Gibson and Marshall, you must be a wanker"
merciful-evans
As Ian Saint Ian would say...."if you're not playing Gibson and Marshall, you must be a wanker" So buying a Marshall now will negatively impact your sex drive?! They always looked heavy but...
Pinch
Lower prices slightly, not twist the arms of retailers, put good binding on Epiphones. Not try to re-invent the wheel. Then there would be an Gibson Explorer without a pickguard, something that's been lacking for ages. The "Modern V" would go. Poof. The Revolution Six signature Epiphone SG is a given. (Just kidding, dude!) I'd institute a rule that the guy or gal inspecting a guitar has to PRINT his or her name. Once that's all in place, I'd sell at a loss, and get a modest house in California. Then I'd fly to Australia, and, pending approval, visit Digger. Something like that.

Got them in Nuevo Laredo 20 years ago for $140. Worn down to a nub. Still my favorites. Nelson R. would be Happy with a pair.

Mine gave out at about the time you bought yours - haven't found a replacement pair in my size since, but glad to have owned at least one. Wore 'em until the uppers separated from the soles👢
SteveFord
What is the crux of the biscuit? I'd bring back a few limited editions, too. Roxy SG, Big Red 335, for starters.
