Rabs
AC/DC to release new single ‘Shot In The Dark’ this week AC/DC will release their comeback single ‘Shot In The Dark’ on Wednesday (October 7), the band have confirmed. Previewed last week in the form of a short video clip, the song is taken from the recently reunited band’s upcoming new project (believed to be an album) ‘PWR UP’. The teaser ends by confirming that ‘Shot In The Dark’ will be released as a single on Wednesday, with the song set to premiere at 5am UK time. You can check out the teaser clip below. AC/DC fans can sign up to a mailing list through the band’s official website to hear more news about ‘PWR UP’. Speaking recently about the band’s upcoming new album — their first since 2014’s ‘Rock Or Bust’ — longtime AC/DC sound engineer Mike Fraser told the AC/DCFans.Net podcast about how the band’s songwriting and recording process this time around echoed the approach that was adopted on their last album. “I think Angus [Young, guitarist] kind of came into this with a lot of ideas and riffs and not too many completed songs,” Fraser said. “But that was similar on ‘Rock Or Bust’, ‘cos him and Malcolm [Young] had written tons of songs before Mal got sick and eventually passed away [in 2017]. “So he’s got a whole treasure trove of ideas and riffs and all that. He’s probably spent a few years before we came in to do this record pooling ideas together and all that, and then when he came into the studio here, he just sat down with a whole suitcase full of little demo things he had done. And him and Brendan O’Brien, who produced the record, would sift through all the ideas and say, ‘Hey, that’s great. That’s a really good song. Let’s put that riff here.’”

Rabs
Just now, kelly campbell said: good to hear thanks for the info Rabs Yeah, its really good to see Brian back where he belongs.. While I am a huge ACDC fan I dont really hold out much hope, especially without Malcolm 😞 But you never know.. The sound clips above sound okish if not somewhat over typical, but then its ACDC isnt it.. I dont expect too much else.
'Scales
Thanks Rabs - these days it's nice to look forward to something that does not change. Hoping for the new Dinosaur Jr albums soon too - they've previewed a couple of songs live.

'Scales
For 3 minutes it was the 80's and I was a teenager again, maybe driving my Mini in summer with the windows down and the cassette player rocking. And that's a good place to be.
brad1
The fact that those guys have sounded pretty much like themselves for 45 years is amazing in itself. They found a formula that worked, and they rarely strayed from it. And I'm so glad for that. Their music will be around for a long, long time. I kinda' like that new song. It's difficult not to like some new AC/DC. Especially when they are sounding like themselves. 1
Rabs
ACDC are a slightly odd band for me... I truly love them as Thunderstruck must have been one of the first songs that made me want to play guitar and my intro in to slightly heavier music... I still love that song but when you then look back at their history its hard to ignore how much better they were with Bon Scott... His lyrics were indeed all sex, drugs and rock n roll but in a very playful witty way. Post Bon the lyrics just became total cheese. At least in Bons lyrics there were stories or they were amusing... So if it wernt for 80s ACDC I wonder if I would have ever even listened to 70s ACDC if they say had split up after his death and Black in Black was never made. Even on that album which has some stonking riffs on it, the lyrics are pretty awful most of the time..

I too prefer Bon's lyrics and the 70's had most of the best songs, but Brian is just as nice and funny a bloke...him and Bon would have been best mates given the chance. Yep - a hard rock band together for so long and so many albums without: ...doing a softer/unplugged/soul etc album...bringing in keyboards/horn section/full friggen orchestra on tour....turning religious/environmental/political and sharing their views on it with us through song...marrying trashy actress types and making tabloid front pages ....doing endless high priced reunion tours with 'meet the band' packages for the rich...putting more reverb on the snare and chorus on the lead...wearing Lycra or makeup....overdosing in LA....'arty' videos... bloody legends! Since always. Then again, Bon wasn't.
01GT eibach
It's a catchier tune than I remember the Rock Or Bust tunes being, so that's good ...
Mutha
Angus always drank tea (far as I know) Malcom came up with the riffs and was always the better guitar player according to Angus. Was self conscious and didn`t want to be out front. Bon Scott era is always what I listen to. They`re also the reason I have an SG. First song I learned was "Whole lot of Rosie"(on electric). uncle fester
ACDC doing ACDC - good stuff! Never thought much of Malcom back in the day, but I've learned a lot since - love Angus but Malcom's impressive in his own right. Brian is not Bon Scott - but he's pretty freakin' awesome.
