merciful-evans
One review from 2013 said there were 490 PUs. Maybe that changed? The 1988 PUs are described as Bill Lawrence Era HBs : here- https://guitarchimp.com/products/1988-gibson-les-paul-custom-lite-metallic-sunset Its the same colour. Yeah, apparently the one I saw has Bill Lawrence... And that one in the link has sold, so who knows how long ago that was, Reverb has certainly changed the market in the last few years. Big Bill
53 minutes ago, Rabs said: It is an amazing guitar but I always did think that having 2 of them was a bit overkill 😄 I got the P90 one as it was too good to refuse.. Its mad when you think that its a made 2 measure guitar, pretty unique yet it cost £400 less than the humbucker one which you can still buy new today.. I always thought it was a bit weird but have found nothing wrong with it at all. Actually apart from the fretboard which is a bit scratched up. Im not sure if someone tried to clean it who didnt know what they were doing or if it came that way from the factory (I hope not).. But it wasnt an issue for me as I know how to clean it up pretty easily. The prices in the guitar market today are bonkers. And the way the go up and down constantly is annoying. BUT if you pick the right time to buy it proves you can still get the odd good deal if you know what you are looking for. You have more than one Lester, so there is nothing weird about having more than one 336.

CROWB8
Eh, maybe best that a day or two went by. Lose the infatuation aspect and gain some perspective. I get tunnel vision sometimes when I see that special guitar. What's that saying? jdgm
Agree with all the above, think you made the right decision. The guy is asking far too much for the black one IMO.

The original pics I posted of this guitar makes it look flawless.. It wasnt at all.. As said, it was very minor stuff and the finish looks like its about to start checking soon.. IF it had been as good a condition as it looks in the pics I may have gone for it one way or another it would be worth what hes asking. But as it goes it was just ok.. Certainly not VERY GOOD as he describes it... Ive seen way older guitars in way better condition than that. So yeah.. Hes asking too much.. End of... Unless he comes back some time with a good offer I think im done with it.

Well yes this is true.. But I really wanted the LP Lite. So was prepared to do the swap.. But it is what it is.. The infatuation part is over now so its just a case of of he ever offers me a better deal. And if not. So be it. This whole thing only happened as the guitar turned out to be so close to me or I wouldnt have even considered buying it without seeing it first..

Dub-T-123
JDGM for what it’s worth I really enjoy looping on a Boss DD-7. It has more headroom than most loopers and the delay itself is excellent

Must get a looper Oh yeah, hes really good isnt he. Been watching his stuff for years. Always really tasteful. He also usually does two vids one lighter and one with more distortion. And yes. Loopers are great fun. One of the few pedals I own. Great fun.
CROWB8
Smooth.......... I wish I had enough guits to be confused as to which one I'm playing in the moment. Second clip. Just after the 2min mark, he reaches for a toggle that aint there. Wrong LP. 🙃

This one he plays a Gary Moore BFG where theres a kill switch where the toggle switch usually is.. He gets confused more than once 😄
CROWB8
Really shows off the P90's blues range. I have three guits with humbuckers. But no P90s. Me thinks I might try one in my Firebird, neck pos. Hard to tell iffin he's actually confused or just forgetting or searching for a given selection for the sound he wants at the moment. He moves around pup selection allot. You can tell he's havin fun with that grin. I may have two tonal/pup movements in a blues song along with maybe a lead selection. But he's all over the place. In a fun way. Edited March 4, 2023 by CROWB8
SteveFord
Don't expect a P90 to drop into a Firebird without some routing work.
CROWB8
Preciate the tip Steve. Wasn't sure how I could get it done. Can't see to do my own work anymore. Stroke left me blind in one eye. Twas something I'd been thinkin bout for a couple months now. Even tho I'd have someone do it, I'd wanna know what all would have to be done as far as mods go. It's just an epi with mini buckers and orange drops with CTKs. Quality build but inexpensive enough platform to make changes. But, it is 9 ply neckthru and rather not butcher it if I can help it. Anyways, had planned on starting a thread to get input b4 buying or having anything done. I have two SGs which obviously would be more suited. Either of those would be plug and play. Probably not plug and play on an SG either. If it’s a batwing you’d need to do some routing and get a new pickguard. If it’s a half guard you’re looking at a P-94 or real ugly job
